Like the Bush family

Real wealth ("educated) is not easily fooled

If they're voting Dem, then yes...yes they are.

They vote Dem because old money can play both sides.

There is no indoctrination, especially one that glorifies a single personality.

Certainly, to some degree, but they also vote Dem because they are wealthy enough to absorb Democrats taking more from them up until now...for now. This allows them to virtue signal from a protected spot.

As the Dems continue to move ever leftward and DSA gets more and more influence, you will see more rich people abandon the Democrats.

The DSA are communists and want those people dead.

Interesting Im observing just the opposite. From previous white house officials, major Pod cast hosts. on and on,

Youre part way there. Their bigoted tribal disdain for "rednecks" is accurate, but the attribution of agency does not.

Trump is functionally a mainstream 90s Democrat with some salty language. To find oneself left of the old left indicates these country club ladies have been pulled FAR left.

They have allowed a mental image of Trump to be developed in their minds where he is a personification of evil. Let's not kid ourselves that they won't allow the same influences to poison their minds for the next (R) using the same tools and tricks.

Trump doesn't do well with rich people. He's more popular with blue collar people. The roles of the parties has mostly switched. This has been happening for a decade.

Yep.

Start counting the yards with no signs in them.

Those are your Paxton voters.

Our neighborhood in Colleyville is almost all conservative. Only the libs have a need to put out signs for democrats. Like you say, we laugh about it. Most of the libs are transplants from blue states. We moved from Florida but have been here in this neighborhood for 35 years.

I was driving through the neighborhood today (North Dallas) and there is not a single Paxton or any other conservative sign around. Probably 15-20 Talarico or other dem signs. Probably more conservative voters in the neighborhood. We just don't feel the need to tell you who we're voting for. If you know us, you know who we're voting for.

Nor educated.

In Highland Park (university Park), you are not going to see American flags or flag poles mounted on the porch of their 5-million-dollar homes. There is no virtue signaling of the sort. "If you know us, you know us".

One of the most ridiculous myths the left keeps pushing to make themselves feel better about losing elections.

May be true if by "educated" you mean people with worthless degrees working in higher education.

Not surprising that you think displaying the flag is "virtue signaling", and that not doing so is a sign of being educated.

Two different points. Trump actually said he loves the poorly educated, and they love him. The voting stats also confirmed these demographics.

Occam's Razor. When confronted with competing answers for a question, choose the answer that relies on the least amount of assumptions.

"Why would rich people vote democrat?"

They believe the Democratic Party aligns better with their beliefs.

Anything else relies on too many assumptions.

Because they believe that social programs they love are actually compassionate. They would never be caught dead in the inner city to see what they actually have created. It's the "giving all this money to the poor is helping and a good thing". Unfortunately it's not truth.

If they actually do believe that idiocy, then the least amount of assumptions at that point is that they're ruhtarded and racist.

Cannot star this enough. I know so many moderate intelligent people in the white collar world that believe they are better than blue collar workers. So much so, they cannot support the same candidates/party.

It's that simple. Rachel Highclass cannot be compared to Rachel Midclass b/c of what their husbands do for a living. So we get completely normal people making the change to believe trans-surgeries and 3rd term abortions are great for society.

I am a relatively wealthy MBA with nice house and life ... many are confused by how wildly conservative our family is b/c they have no idea we are blue collar. My Karen of a wife will tell other parents that our kids aren't allowed to play with yours b/c you are a liberal. Its lovely to watch!

Like the one we already have that Republicans and Trump want to protect by not allowing illegals to vote?

Or, do you mean the communist, open borders system that the Democrats want to move to?

I laughed about "your wife keeping your kids away from libs" but let me encourage you here. Host the kids at your house! You cannot influence the other kids for the "sake of good" unless you build relationships. We MUST begin to share truth with folks or we will soon be subjugated. Go with God my friend.

In my Airbnb neighborhood across 75 from Highland Park and Southern Methodist University, there are a lot of Talarico and Gina and other leftist signs in the yards.

maybe two for Paxton.

same thing up in neighborhoods in Richardson near the Park we hike at.

I can understand that because they are more lower income and lower educated in Richardson.

but this neighborhood in the city of Dallas and within a mile of SMU are very wealthy, educated and have good jobs. they aren't the college idiots.

and still they want to bring socialism to the country-

even though THEY MADE THEIR PRIVILEGED LIFE BASED ON CAPITALISM.

Same thing in Atlanta. Rich neighborhoods all had signs for Harris

To offset the emotional responses, some very well off folks vote democrat simply because of cultural or social influence. It's that simple.

This is the answer.

These people live, work and socialize in circles where it has become perfectly okay to express progressive ideals, but verboten to do the same for conservative beliefs.

Over time, these unwritten rules wear the edges off more conservative peers. The peer pressure -- even if it is subtle -- is just too much. Those folks who would naturally be Republican wind up putting Talarico and "In This House" signs in their yards just to save social status.

Agreed. It's fashionable to talk **** about Republicans and Trump in public...even at work. But you can't say one word about Democrats or it becomes an HR issue.

I lived it in corporate America. Many of my peers in senior leadership ranks freely trashed conservatives. It was sport. But you were not allowed to say anything the other direction and the vast majority of normal people didn't anyway because we are professionals and it's inappropriate to do that at work.

One thing that always strikes me when I talk with friends or family members who are Democrats is how differently we view the world, even beyond politics.

We really do live in separate universes.

The problem is that while I recognize that we consume different media, enjoy different hobbies, see issues from a different perspective, etc., they assume everyone is just like them -- because that's all they ever hear and see.

As Col. Jessup would say, they have the luxury of not knowing what I know because they are progressives and the world is bent to their favor.

This is very true. So many Dems/Libs I know including many of my extended family members are convinced that they are the smartest most educated people ever.

To them anyone that is not a Dem/Lib is an idiot/moron and certainly uneducated. They take this position no matter how obviously intelligent and well read a person is. I have heard them say this about people such as Elon Musk, Victor Davis Hanson, Charlie Kirk, etc. In their minds they are all uneducated idiots and/or morons.

Spot on.

I can't even agree on a common set of facts and reality with some of my Democrat friends. They literally believe things that defy reality, history, and common knowledge.

I still have one friend who thinks that antifa doesn't exist and is Republican mythology. Literally thinks they don't exist like zombies or werewolves.

It's sad.
