Candidates for high office don't just disappear from the campaign for nearly two weeks, especially in the stretch run. To try and justify or minimize it is absurd.
The interesting question is, how will his campaign try to spin it if and when he shows back up. Whatever it is, you can know 100% it will be a lie. There is zero good reason to fall off the radar like this.
Talarico is as a candidate as he was as a legislator. Absent and unreliable most of the time. Texas deserves better from its Senator.
I would also prefer a candidate who doesn't run off with his mistress/girffriend to, of all places, London ****ing England, during the America 250 celebrations this year.
Maybe they both suck.
He was on vacation. He was not "running off"...jfc
Of course, but it was a bad look, leaving the country on its 250th anniversary to visit the country we liberated ourselves from 250 years ago. Same with Cruz choosing to vacation in Mexico while the rest of the state was locked in a freeze with rolling blackouts. Politicians can do things that are completely normal, and if anyone else did them no one would bat an eye, but because they are our politicians we seem to think that their doing those things simply looks bad.
Dredging the depths again about Cruz. Who had absolutely no power to do anything about it.
