We aren't going to pay off the debt. You should have learned that from DOGE when Elon and Trump were told in no uncertain terms to sit down and shut up about wasteful spending. Since then we've seen hundreds of billions in fraud uncovered and nobody bats an eye.

A for effort, F for failure. You can go back the entire history of F16 and find me posting that the debt doubles every 8 years and has since 1965. I've been extremely consistent on this over the years. I'm known for saying the Republicans are too stupid to be as evil as the Democrats. Am I concerned with the debt? Sure. That has nothing to do with whether I think either party will do anything about it. They've proven they won't. At the same time because currencies primarily trade against other currencies the dollar is the strongest currency there is and getting stronger. There's literally no incentive to pay off the debt so they don't. Our opinion doesn't matter.

The only thing I can take from this is that I'm paying for it.

I am tired of Trump thinking the solution to everything is him "sending checks". That is not a long term solution to anything. People need opportunities and ease of business. I know he is working on those things, but use any excess money to paying down the debt, however small it is.

And if he wants to send money, send it to people below a certain income level. For example, I don't need the money he would send. I know this one is for seniors but why would a senior like Bill Gates need a check from anyone?

Probably like under something like under $75,000. Who said no tax on Social Security? I don't see it.

When Trump first announced the $5k checks (which is idiocy), Vance immediately walked it back somewhat and said those checks would be means tested. You and I are not getting those checks although I deserve one.

I suspect these "nearly" $100 worthless checks would be means tested as well.

Two more things about this fraudulent $5k hoax by Trump is (1) it is illegal, and (2) it would immediately add $1.2T to the national debt if it could actually be done.

The GOP used to be a serious party. Its ideology was misguided and fraught with bad policies, but at least it had quite a few serious adults in Congress.
