The longer 25 hour requirement only came out this year so it wouldn't have affected that aircraft. Also it's an FAA rule so I don't know if it would affect planes going to foreign operators or what the local requirements are

Well, when it's terrorist behavior like this, the media needs to have 69 layers of discovery to ensure the media story is correct.

But, when Trump says "good morning", the media fully understands that this is an attack on democracy! Who is TRUMP to decide whether it is "morning" or if that "morning" is "good". There needs to be immediate condemnation for that kind of executive overreach.

The worst part is that they can't simply admit it's a terrorist act and go on to say the underlying motives or goals remain unclear. All of that IS still true.

Was the goal to just crash the plane? Did the co-pilot intend to weaponize the plane? Was he state sponsored? Did he simply attend mosque with a radical Imam? Was he motivated using social media? Did he simply hade Israel and Jews? Was this his first flight to Israel?

They could admit it's a terrorist act AND that the exact motivations are still unknown.

The only thing that would have mitigated that nightmare is that being at the end of the flight the amount of fuel remaining would have only been the reserve requirement. I believe Reserve = Alternate destination +10% x (Original flight + Alternate). Still enough fuel to create one hell of a fire though.

But that confession does explain why he didn't simply crash the plane in the desert. If the industry is honest with themselves there needs to be serious looks at very regular mental health screenings and if we're truly being honest... Stop hiring Muslim pilots.
