The recognition rate is the percentage of claimants receiving recognition of asylum, I think.

That would make sense since they are coming from a known civil war.

At this point though, my policy would be no dice for anyone coming from the Middle East or Africa.

Correct. Normie-Cons can scream "socialists" at the top of their lungs, but they refuse to reconcile with the fact that Nazis killed communists, were ethnic nationalists, and stood against the progressivism of the time.

Killing commies ain't a bad thing regardless of who is doing it.

The difference between commies and fascists is pretty thin

They have such wonderful ideas for governing people that the masses don't appreciate
Indeed, government is far too important a task to be left to the consent of those being "governed".

I agree.

The problem Hitler had was being too brainwashed by antisemitic conspiracy theories to correctly identify enemies.

Hasidic Jews living in shtetls in Poland were not going to start a communist revolution or subvert German culture. There was no logical reason to target them for destruction.

But actual communists, Frankfurt School professors, the Institut fr Sexualwissenschaft, or the demonstrators against the arrest of abortion doctors Friedrich Wolf and Else Kienle? Yeah, shoot them all.

I haven't read the article, but I assume that it refers to the concern that AfD is about to win an election in Saxony-Anhalt.

It's the sort of place where outward migration combines with a net negative birth/death rate. It's not a cheerful proposition. It's the sort of place that you pass through without stopping.

When those AfD guys talk about remigration, it tends to rhyme with ethnic cleansing. AfD in Saxony-Anhalt strikes me as a bunch of forgotten people in a left-behind place choosing to scapegoat a minority for the fact that they are impoverished.

Are you arguing that these places NEED hardcore muslims and illiterate low skilled third worlders in order to prevent population decline? Nah player, give me population decline over that. Kick them out then introduce government incentivization to procreate and form families. Rather than punishing people for doing things the right way.

Even here in America, we incentivize all of the wrong things...hood rats spitting out babies left and right for government bennies and staying single and dependent their whole lives. While good decent families fund this and so much other stupid backwards crap. It should be the other way around. We should be giving tax cuts to the people who deserve it and will make our society better. Maybe even large tax deductions for newly weds. Eliminate welfare and let things sort out naturally over time.

Instead, we seem hellbent on living out real life Idiocracy and doing everything we can to make sure that reckless and degenerate sub-80 IQ morons outbreed the people who are assets to this country.

Just so we're clear, it was me who gave you that 10th star and I was damn proud to do it. If I could give you 100 more I would.

I am also arguing, as I do with respect to the politics of the United States, that we should be wary of endorsing the political ideas of the places from which people are actively running away.

so you're saying that we should be wary of Muslims?

I'm legitimately asking here. I don't really know what point you're making. If so, then good. If not, then we need to apply some critical thinking here.

None taken. My politics is pretty bookish, on both sides of the Atlantic.

When I walk down the street in Munich, I think, "damn, the CSU knows how to make a place work."

When I look at what the AfD is saying, I think, "Man, I've heard this before, and it ended badly."

Every party other than the Ds are weak in New York, LA, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, etc., etc., etc.

This isn't even that radical, IMO. I'd consider these policies common sense and a decent start.

The fact that we are at a point in the West where these ideas sound fringe/radical is an indictment on the post WWII consensus and liberalism in general.

It's not radical. It's also an indictment of how easily the right accepts the left's definitions of them.

There is almost zero pushback when the left claims that pushing the right's policies of personal responsibility, fiscal responsibility, small government and deregulation to extremes equates to Nazism.

I don't disagree but our system isn't set up to take that appropriate level of care. Thus, banning all of them is the most prudent action to take.

I try not to paint with a broad brush. We need the best people from all over the world, and we don't need the dregs from any country.

The third world is something of a loose term. For me, it generally means underdeveloped countries that were not communist during the first cold war.

A lot of those countries are populated with people who are largely compatible with American values. In Latin America, for example, many of them share our faith and the institutional traditions of European (e.g., Spanish) law.

Our goal should be to find good people and make them good Americans.

That sounds great and all but it's a pipe dream when you have half the people in this country who are now for open borders and want zero vetting done. Within that reality, your only option is to totally shut it down while you have a pro-sovereign leader and Congress in power because the very next time they lose power we will go back to open borders again.

And that's a losing proposition that really at best a one step forward two steps backwards solution. We can't deport enough people fast enough while in power to offset the sheer millions that Democrats let in and will let in again next time they are in power.

The issue is obviously that a Somali or an Indian or an Ecuadorian can't become American.

Just like the middle eastern hordes can't become German. It's why German society is collapsing. Germany is for Germans and America is for Americans.

But that's the crux of the matter, is it not? How many non-assimilators are you willing to take in to get the ones who will embrace American values? As I said before, one of our two major political parties does not believe in making this distinction and wants totally open borders. They are literally against the very idea of a country and protecting American values.

In the face of that harsh reality, you are simply committing suicide to satisfy your emotional ideal.

It helps if one gives up ancient blood hatred rooted in the dawn of time. When one's religion teaches that hatred andr killing of certain ethnic groups of people is a religious duty, it is difficult to see how they will be mainstreamed because that residual toxin will always exist.
