This isn't even that radical, IMO. I'd consider these policies common sense and a decent start.

The fact that we are at a point in the West where these ideas sound fringe/radical is an indictment on the post WWII consensus and liberalism in general.

Don't have a subscription but link to the article for any of you people with subs to The Atlantic for some reason: https://www.theatlantic.com/international/2026/08/german-election-afd-far-right/688389/

Everything up to the press being shunned is a no brainer.

I don't want an echo chamber of vapid influencers, but I also don't want the left-wing lapdog press we have today. If the press would get back to truly being objective (if they ever were), I would gladly stand up for them. In their current incarnation, they can pound sand.

And I would argue that vigilantism is never the answer, but again, left wing judges insist on releasing repeat criminals into our neighborhoods, and until that changes, I'm not going to shed many tears when some criminal gets the FAFO treatment from a member of the public.

The only people who hate Jews with the same passion as the nazis are Muslims. And guess who's being let into the country by the thousands.

Vigilante auxiliary police forces patrolling the streets of Germany? What could possibly go wrong?

From the perspective of Germans and the West, I literally can't think of a single thing.

I haven't read the article, but I assume that it refers to the concern that AfD is about to win an election in Saxony-Anhalt.

It's the sort of place where outward migration combines with a net negative birth/death rate. It's not a cheerful proposition. It's the sort of place that you pass through without stopping.

When those AfD guys talk about remigration, it tends to rhyme with ethnic cleansing. AfD in Saxony-Anhalt strikes me as a bunch of forgotten people in a left-behind place choosing to scapegoat a minority for the fact that they are impoverished.

I wouldn't be down with 'government authorized' vigilante groups, but as another poster mentioned, private citizens resorting to that in high crime areas wouldn't surprise me and I'd be one of them if law abiding citizens felt helpless in the face of high crime.

I'd also want to know what they are reviewing/looking for when reviewing naturalization processes so it's clear why someone would lose their citizenship, but otherwise no issue with that.

The Germans do not have a good record for due process on deciding who is a German.

They are looking to create terror. That's it.

Before the fall of France, the conditions were pretty simple.

1.) Round up the Jews and send them to concentration camps.
2.) Release them, on the strict condition that they agree to leave the country immediately and surrender their property.

This solution made sense to a broad majority of the German population. It was seen as being a humane approach to cleansing the German state.

If you went to a concentration camp in 1938, you had a relatively good shot at leaving alive. But you had to leave. Immediately.

The formula is simple.

1.) The vigilante militias inflict fear.
2.) You strip the victims of legal rights.
3.) You round them up and imprison them for a few days to intensify the fear.
4.) You tell them that they are free to go, so long as they leave.

#2 sounds a lot like "review every naturalization decision for the last 25 years."

For the 100000000000000000th time, the NSDAP, or Nazis, we're LEFT WING radicals, not right wing. It's unbelievable that people don't understand this.

I think that the finer points of NSDAP economic policy are lost in … the rubble.

Gents, those AfD guys are not the sort of people who are going to bring Germany into a new age of prosperity and freedom.

To prepare for a recent vacation in Germany, I read three books, which I recommend to anybody who is looking for a lens through which to understand the AfD.

1. Aftermath, by Jahner
2. In the Garden of Beasts, by Larson
3. A History of Fascism, 1914-1945, by Payne.

In total, it came to about 1,500 pages.

Jahner is particularly informative with respect to what is happening in Saxony-Anhalt right now. Payne is most helpful for understanding how NSDAP relates to (and is materially different from) the other far-right movements in the first half of the 20th century.

I had decided to "do the reading" after visiting the Gestapo field office in Cologne, which is now a memorial site, in 2025.

And what is the alternative? Because whatever Germany is doing now sure ain't working. The country is dying both culturally and economically.

Go to Poland and copy whatever they are doing. The Poles are getting 3.5%+ growth. The Germans are getting 0.3%.

Respectfully, Bjorn Hocke has been twice fined by German courts for using the slogan, "Alles fur Deutschland!" This guy is the state AfD leader in Thuringia. He led AfD to its first victory in any German state (1st place finish, not a majority).

The first time, he closed a speech with it. The second time, at a rally, he uttered the first two words, and the crowd yelled the third word back to him.

"Alles fur Deutschland!" is the slogan of the SA.

If you don't want to be compared to the NSDAP, you don't train your supporters to chant the slogan of the SA.

What Poland is doing is not letting these Islamists even enter their country in the first place and shooting them on sight if they try to illegally cross the border

That's why it's peaceful and prospering

So yeah, let's all do what Poland is doing

If I understand correctly, the Poles also have chosen much more economic liberty than the Germans have chosen.

If you break the shackles of socialism, people can prosper.

You might want to read up on what happened to members of the Communist and Socialist parties after the Nazis took power.

Dachau was established for the Nazis to deal with the Left.

So one way out of poverty is sitting back and allowing millions of low IQ, radical Islamists who have no intention of assimilation into the country? Is it somehow good for them?

Correct. Normie-Cons can scream "socialists" at the top of their lungs, but they refuse to reconcile with the fact that Nazis killed communists, were ethnic nationalists, and stood against the progressivism of the time.

I don't think that there's a single soul on this board that will defend the immigration policy of Angela Merkel.

Germany's problems are larger than the immigrant mix.

A healthy society with a healthy economy can absorb and assimilate immigrants. A healthy political system has a reasoned system for choosing the immigrants that it allows to join the society.

Germany has been broken for 100 years.

A healthy society can handle like 5 Somalis. What you don't want to do is import so many that they band together and have strong enough competing interests against the native population. Then they start using their power in numbers to stand against the will of the locals.

I've read In the Garden of Beasts as well as the Rise of the Third Reich. Great books.

But you are doing what this article is doing - comparing AfD to Nazis. They are simply like most other "far right" parties in Europe. They still want their cradle to grave welfare but they just want it for Germans. The Jews don't have a religious, cultural, and societal edict to oppress and murder everyone else around them like the Muslims do. This is not a comparable situation.

When your own government is suiciding you through immigration policy, then some people are going to naturally be opposed to their own cultural death and fight back.

"All (everything) for Germany" is a political slogan, it was first documented in 1848 (almost 80 years before the SA) during the unification of Germany. It has been used many times since then by German nationals including the SA.
