i'm a liberal who wants trump's impulses held in check, and as a resident of texas voting for talarico is one of the few, tiny civic levers i have to effect that. it's pretty straightforward.

Make up your mind. You have a post this page where you claim to be an independent. LOL.

You are not fooling anyone.
"liberal" and "independent" are not mutually exclusive

The problem is it's not a "tiny civic lever" when it can change the majority of the senate. That makes it an ENORMOUS lever that must be weighed studiously for the impact it could have not only on this country but also the world.
my individual vote for talarico is ultimately inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but yeah that's kind of the point

This feels like Beto-lite. I'm gonna go vote regardless.
I hope I did not offend anybody with this post. If I did, please come see me at my address in my profile so we can talk.

Abbott must be pretty puckered. I hear his ads everywhere, to the point that they are ****ing annoying.

Abbot is not remotely in danger of losing

I thought we were judging our chances of candidate success on ROAS.

Abbott is more annoying than Jimmy Low T.

Doesn't mean much in my lowly opinion.

Abbott sucks, though. He's next, after soft brisket.

Abbott vs radical leftist: easily safe R, not even a thread about it here.
Paxton vs radical leftist: "toss up"

The Pravda narratives and constant attacks on Paxton for nearly a decade have been effective on the low iq masses.

If anti-communists show up for midterms, which is historically a big ask, there should be no problem because almost no one who is voting for Abbott over Hinojosa would abstain from voting for Paxton and not a soul would vote for Abbott and talcreepo. That would be a major audit red flag if secret ballots weren't so sacred and I agree with secret ballots being sacred.

But all non-communist pacs and the Paxton campaign need to get going because more and more useful idiots are getting fooled by the well-funded socialist freakweirdo, no matter how phony and disingenuous he seems even with the funding for professional ads.

Telarco is way worse than Robert Francis, but Paxton is a worse orator / debater than Cruz and has had far harsher Pravda attacks against him.

I get the PACs needing to carefully allocate funding to competitive races in other states, but they need to realize how powerful the Epstein dollars to talrico are, how the us senate is the path the socialist goals, and how powerful a "man of the cloth" telling people Jesus is ok with baby murder is for many in the masses and do some spending in Texas.

I live out of state but am watching this from afar. Having lived in Texas for 66 years it's astounding to me there are enough stupid people in the state for this moron Talarico to even be on the ballot much less have any chance to win.

We know he adores drag queens, and big mike has done nothing in his life since holding a corporate law job in the early/mid 90's.

But became an absolute hero to him somehow. We all know why.

I think Texas is a lean Republican but not a tossup Senate race. I would like Ken Paxton to win by double digits, but I think he will win by 3-5 points to keep this Senate seat red.

talarico only has a chance because of a perfect storm of converging factors. namely: a weak opponent, a deeply unpopular president and his incumbent party, a midterm election, and what's looking to be a D+5-7 generic ballot.

he'd have lost easily to cornyn even in this environment, and easily to paxton most other years. even so, paxton must still be considered the favorite this year.

Improve things how?
by clawing back the support they've hemorrhaged from their own voters since the 2024 election via mismanagement of issues like affordability, war in iran, epstein, corruption, etc.

I have noticed on the Political site the use of name calling for someone that does not agree with you. This is like a lot of little Trumps who uses name calling like a junior high kid on the play ground. All the back and forth of nothing but differences of opinion. Just because someone does not agree with you, you can be respectful.

The Republicans need to start getting conservatives nominated in the primaries. None of these issues will be fixed by electing Democrats. In fact, they will get worse.

Weirdo's who are pushing for "low t" are mostly women. I teach chemistry and coach; I have a few teachers on facebook and the gushing is happening that they love what he stands for.

If MEN step up and vote and have a conversation with their ladies about how this guy thinks and bring some common sense into the equation, low t won't stand a chance. If dudes on election day instead opt to mow the yard or sit on the porch with some cold ones, the ladies will win this senate race for him.

Leftists like Talarico are well aware of the 'inside' joke which is why they are such emotional fan boys about this...person.

Calling somebody what their political positions define them to be (i.e. a communist) is not "name calling", it is accurately labeling them with an informative title. But I suppose calling Trump and ICE and anybody who the left opposes a fascist is fine with you even if the ones hurling the label are the ones trying to shut down alternate viewpoints?

on the other hand, conservatives have turned "socialist" and "communist" into rhetorical labels, not descriptive ones, and consequently diluted them to something approaching meaninglessness. talarico is a progressive liberal, but not a communist.
