Im pretty sure having the freedom to say or speak anything one wishes does not relieve one from the consequences of said speech.

Look at what happened to that HPD officer who said what she did. She was out of uniform, didn't stop HPD from firing her. We have freedom of speech, not freedom from consequences.
Can't decide if I want to be cute & cuddly, or go blow some sh*t up.

Kimmel shouldn't be able to walk out of his studio without taking fire. If he got killed or even scared, he would shut his ***** mouth. The narrative will change when there are consequences for the other side. Until then, this will continue.

I am part of the problem because I am not going to take up the cause at this point. Hence, most are like me, and this one sided slaughter will continue on.

Oh, so dangling the license approval of Disney owned ABC stations hours after the president demands an on-air talent be removed isn't silencing speech?
Celebrating assassinations and advocating for them isn't criticism. And Kimmel hasn't been silenced.

The people who talked about Hunter Biden's laptop were silenced. Even journalists. The people who challenged the fake covid narrative were silenced.

The world would be a better place if dimwits inciting violence like Jimmy Kimmel were silenced, but it hasn't happened.

You're "part of the problem" because you won't shoot bullets at Kimmel as he exits his studio? Touch grass.

I'll add this for cajunaggie.

Imagine your first 4 years of first lady, your husband is being hit with lawsuits and slander for things he didn't do. Then leaves office, after being voted out. Just to have the next 4 years defending your husband from slander and more lawsuits, fake criminal charges, your home being raided on orders from a sitting president. Not one not two but three assassination attempts. You really think she's in the mood to smile. Would your wife be smiling. I know my wife wouldn't be smiling.

All the other first ladies manage a smile. Even Hilary. I guess they're all faking it.

Let's say Kimmel was fired, today, due to similar threats (over the air FCC rules he and ABC have likely been breaking is the "threat" mind you).

He is free to get a job with a cable network and say whatever they, their subscribers and sponsors want. He is free to write a book if he can sell it. He is free to do a comedy tour and say pretty much anything not directly threatening. He can do a podcast. Start a YouTube channel.

You get the idea. Silencing his speech, yeah right.

Perhaps Kimmel could make a joke about her not smiling that does not involve the death of her husband.

The entertainment world has taken constant shots at Trump for over a decade. No one is silencing them. They have the most free platform in the world here. They wouldn't have lasted a week without censorship (or worse) in Iran, China, Russia, or N Korea. Even Britain barred Kanye from coming in.

No one is entitled to keeping their dying talk show format on the air in the current market.

After a while, you have to wonder if all parties involved with this are benefiting from media exposure, DJT keeps his winning the day of media relevancy and Jimmy and ABC get more views and clicks.

It was clearly an old person joke. It was obvious when he said it the first time and then he confirmed as much last night. Suggesting otherwise is just looking for a reason to be upset.

And frankly, why would anyone go looking for new ways to twist facts to upset themselves? I don't get it. It's certainly not some gotcha outside of some unfortunate timing and Jimmy Kimmel is not clairvoyant.

Of course they are. That's why they all do it. Both parties have a hand in fraying the fabric of our community and both believe that no news is bad news. I think they genuinely dislike each other, but playing it out on the world's biggest stage achieves nothing and helps no one except for the immediate parties involved.

Wonder? A blind man with an IQ of a dead slug knows it's all for the likes and clicks.

Jimmy knows that saying anything that isn't fawning on Trump will now get Trump's ire, and Trump knows that his maga will give him the likes when he goes after Jimmy.

Those two are no different than two "influencers" who do nothing more than create content that they know the other will on and attack them on, then they go and comment and attack them on their page, and so on and so forth.

Predictable and boring, but the masses lap it to, just like with Jimmy and Trump.

A hero is nothing without a villain, and Jimmy and Trump are each and the other, to each side.

Entertainment at its finest.

Im not a leftist and I agree that Kimmel does go hard against Trump. He's clearly a raging liberal living in the middle of raging liberal land. I'm just talking specific cases like this one.

The same thing happens in reverse - especially when it comes from something Trump said. But they'd probably both calm it down if it didn't work so well.
