I've always been a news junkie, even going back to elementary school I enjoyed watching the 5:30 national news.

I remember Cronkite giving his last broadcast in 1981...but my go to network was ABC World News Tonight with Frank Reynolds, and then to my favorite anchor of all time, Peter Jennings.

Jennings and Brokaw were pretty good in all seriousness. Bernard Shaw at CNN was actually pretty good too back in the day, and a bit off topic but the McLaughlin group show with John McLaughlin was great political entertainment.

We watched NBC primarily unless Hurricane was in the gulf then it was Dr Neil Frank worship hour.

Old sports report was Craig Roberts? And no Houston list is complete without special medical contributor Dr. Red Duke.

My wife's grandfather roomed with Cronkite at tu. They kept in touch with each other most of their adult lives.

I was not around for Ricci Ware, but I listen to Trey Ware from time to time. He has grown tiresome to me because while I share his opinions he often has his facts wrong or exaggerated.
