DFW checking in. My submittal is Chip Moody and Tracy Rowlett when they were paired up on WFAA.

Here's a classic. Was watching this live back in the day. My dad, who didn't laugh too often, was in stitches…

On the weather front, Harold Taft was "The World's Greatest Weatherman" according to the late great Bill Mack.

This clip is from Channel 5 also featuring Chip Moody at a younger, healthier time.

Marvin Zindler. The man the myth the mystery.

Hearing people talk about how he got his ass kicked by Sherriff Jim of Fayette County is still high comedy.

Nah, old school is Moses bringing down the 10 commandments.

That was one of the most underrated short site gags I ever saw.

Dave Ward

Dave had quite the reputation as a partier and ladies man about town.

Does anyone remember when Dave participated in a charity motocross event, crashed and wound up in the hospital? I remember channel 13 filming from his hospital room.

I was there - he was lucky he didn't die. And whoever thought it would be a good idea for celebs to race motorcross should have been fired on the spot.

Dave was flying though!

There's a reason Dave was known as the hardest Ward in Houston.

As a kid in Houston in the 60s, we were often visiting family out of town on weekends, wouldn't see local news.

Dave Ward would give a recap of the carnage from the preceding weekend. Precursor to ICYMI.

Tony Snow back in the day. First on Fox News Special Report when it started and Fox News Sunday IIRC. Truly great. His replacement, Brit Hume, was great too.

Brit still is. Always glad to see him on elections and big news days.

Does Paul Harvey count as a news anchor? Because we listened to the Rest of the Story every morning in the 90s on the way to school.

The Rest of the Story came later in his career. He did a 15 minute radio news broadcast for years. Played on our local station at noon.
See, this kind of information is why we need you Boomers around - to set us Xers straight.

I liked Peter Jennings on ABC in the 80s.

It wasn't until later that I found out he was a Canuck.

And when I was working "On The Lot' at Disney in the mid 2000s, they had a bunch of old ABC pix in the ABC Building in Burbank.

I got to see some pix of Peter Jennings as a field reporter in Vietnam. That was a trip.
