That's what happens when POTUS, VPOTUS, and Miller antagonize half the country. Words have consequences.

Here's the reality. The POTUS you elected decided to not only completely ignore immigration law, but actively ENCOURAGED the mass migration of 10+million illegals into this country. FACT.

Now, there are two ways to deal with this reality. Either A.) begin to clean up the problem after the fact, which when faced with ideological opposition, will necessarily be messy; or, B.) completely ignore it and admit defeat.

I know liberals would like the 'win' of option B, and are willing to create chaos because they don't get option B; but, option A. is the order of the day. And no amount of whining, lying, character assassination, or literal assassination will change that fact. POTUS is doing what he was elected to do. And what you call "heavy handed tactics" (which they aren't) are necessary when locales do not cooperate with simple law enforcement and allow active obstruction.

And at any rate - once again - the Olymics are not the place to litigate this domestic issue.

The issue isn't whether or not an athlete has an unlikeable opinion of the US or not. The Olympics is supposed to be apolitical, and help us forget about political hostility that seems to be growing ever greater. You remember the dude who made a vulgar gesture to the Soviet crowd in 1980 after winning the pole vault? Yes, it's funny, and he was given plenty of reasons to do that, but it reflected poorly on Poland to many. The USSR was making life miserable for that guy's country, too. What are these athletes' excuses?

Not to mention these athletes have put in a lot of work, but have been blessed tremendously to have this opportunity. The country financed their travel there, even, among other things. Imagine if an American athlete had used their platform to lament about Biden back in Tokyo or Paris. (You have to imagine it, because it never happened to my knowledge, by the way.) These people are supposed to be representing the US, not themselves or their moral superiority. They don't have to agree or support government policy, but they are Americans. Let the other countries lambast us (as they're good at doing already).

This is like the closet nerd who joins in on bullying his nerd "friends" so he doesn't get picked on, too, only he's still expecting to "be cool" and play nerd games with the other guys when the bullies are away. It's weak.

I was just in Italy in December.

The first week was in Turin. Then drove down the west coast, stopping in Pisa, Rome, and Pompeii, with a day trip to Vietri sul Mare.

That comment is filled with jealously and envy - (my bad your user name looks similar to someone on the OB - but the point stands. Would you say that of rich people who owned a large vacation ranch and their kids could rodeo all the time and became world class at roping, bronc riding, cutting, etc.)

I don't like many of their comments. But it's a 1st amendment (the one before the 2nd) and everyone would be cheering if the person was a tuning point follower bashing the left. This country is either free or it isn't.
