They usually do, so give it time.

"All these athletes should be pulled from the team," another wrote. "You don't go to the Olympics and trash your country."
Added X user Kevin Miller: "Count me in the boycott."
The backlash comes as the Milan-Cortina Games are already under scrutiny, with protests and political tensions spilling into Olympic venues and broadcasts.

Article on boycotting the Olympics.

Good for him representing the majority of Americans. His team went out and beat the commies only to now watch us send a bunch of commies over to represent "us".

I'm glad athletes are exercising their first amendment rights that our countrymen died for to support retaining our constitutional rights here at home like being able to protest ice without being executed, to not have our homes invaded because we speak out against the administration, and to exercise our right to bear arms.

Nonsense.

To be trained and sponsored by your country and then bash it while overseas, is the act of a petulant child.

Partisanship is supposed to stop at the border

I would love to see an olympian blow up any "journalist" that is baiting them to bag America.

And while you're at it, blow up the coward olympians that are using their platform representing the USA to **** on the USA in hopes of getting a tv gig or goosing their social media numbers.

Ridiculous drivel of a soft mind.

THere's a time and place for things. The Olympics isn't it.

Same coward mentality is what lead to a generation full of cowards at the olympics.

Liberals. Ruin. Everything.

If Olympians trash the country overseas, they must be recalled and banned forever. Let them go represent Afghanistan.

Doesn't the team have a media manager? All they have to say is "no political questions. Next!".

These entitled and woke Olympians don't want to represent the USA, but they accept the corporate sponsorship, funding from private sources, endorsements, and testimonials that benefit them. They don't seem to understand that even with the problems they perceive in our country, they are free to voice their opinions without fear. We don't need these lunatics representing the greatest country in the world. They can always drop out for athletes who love and want to represent USA.

First off, it's amazing that you just spelled out the white supremacy leanings without even knowing it.

Secondly, there's about 10,000 evangelical pastors (of all colors) spouting Christian Nationalist political views that very much have retained their tax exempt status.

So again, conservatives don't seem to have a problem with public figures pushing political beliefs... as long as they're the "right" ones

That's just it, though. They're there to represent the entire country, not just some small group they agree with.

They - just like the groups they align with- love to accuse Trump of being divisive, but then they go to another country and become divisive themselves, proving that they have no idea what and who they're supposed to be representing.

No, they really don't.

The "median voter" is way more worried about living expenses still being ridiculously high due to inflation caused by Trump, Biden and their liberal fiscal policies than what some spoiled ****tard...of any political leaning...says while doing rich kid **** .

Well, you could believe this or you could go look at approval ratings from the most Trump friendly pollsters and see how fast he went underwater following Minneapolis and Greenland. Most people aren't watching these events with Lee Greenwood playing in the background and lonely tear of patriotic pride rolling down their cheek.

They are representing their country, warts and all. America is not holding hands and singing kumbaya at the moment, we're going through an existential reset of who we are. That's playing out right now in athletes, artists, and boardrooms. They're allowed to be citizens. And I can still disagree with Blake Treinan and hope he can fix his close.

If the media was honest they would press her to name an instance where this administration has infringed on her "human rights" as a gay person. I guarantee you the answer would be some word salad that would have zero substance or actual instances of infringing upon her rights.

Disagree. They're not there to amplify what THEY BELIEVE are warts. They are there to represent their country. If they want to be political activists, go do that. True, they are free to say whatever they want - including the bashing of their own country - but they are of a small handful of countries that are able and willing to do so, and as such, look like simple fools on the world stage.

I have no interest in cheering for activists who wear a uniform they are ashamed of. Either be proud of being from this country, or go find one you are proud of.

This type of attitude is destroying the purpose of the Olymics, which is for athletes to honor the purity of fellowship and sport without the animus of political disagreement for a short time. They're not changing any minds. They're exacerbating division.

It's unfortunate you don't understand this.

That's what YOU want them to do. Kurt Shilling endorsed Bush after the Red Sox won in 2004. Black power fist in whatever Olympics that was. Sports and politics have always mixed and the athletes dont have to say I bleed red white and blue no matter what to still be Americans representing their country.

Not to say pastors are always right or even in agreement with each other, but they do generally spend lots of time thinking about their positions and how they can argue them logically, give guidance, and read scripture and other books to help inform themselves.

Meanwhile most pro skiers spend much of their day getting baked on a mountain. Most of their brain cells are dead from drugs, and they typically have very little formal or informal education. They have no real difficulties in life and have no idea how most of the world lives. I wonder how many illegal immigrants are allowed to "occupy stolen land" in Aspen and Vail?

Olympic athletes, actors, musicians, professors, students...most of these people have no connection to the real world. The real world should pay them no mind. The only reason anyone does is when it aligns with the legacy media narrative it gets highlighted like it is somehow relevant.

Actual elections show these polls (from Trump friendly pollsters like Rasmussen) are capturing the shift correctly. 9 months is a political eternity, but ignoring what's happening in the real world today is just denying today's electoral reality.

We get it

You want communism and are giddy at the idea that enough young idiots also want communism that you might finally get it.

Will have absolutely no sympathy when all you useful idiots get sent to a gulag in Alaska screeching "Noooo!!! This isn't REAL communism! I just wanted free healthcare!!"
