Not to say pastors are always right or even in agreement with each other, but they do generally spend lots of time thinking about their positions and how they can argue them logically, give guidance, and read scripture and other books to help inform themselves.
Meanwhile most pro skiers spend much of their day getting baked on a mountain. Most of their brain cells are dead from drugs, and they typically have very little formal or informal education.
