Where are the CMS inspectors for all of these "home healthcare" facilities? My wife does consulting work for adult healthcare facilities (nursing homes) and CMS will inspect her facilities at least once a year and will climb straight up their butts if ANYTHING is off with the billing. Like they're doing spot checks on medicine stockrooms just to make sure they're dispensing everything they're billing for and have the records to prove it. How could these fraudsters get away with 100's of millions of dollars worth of billing without inspections and not even have fraudulent patient records (much less actual patients) to show for it?

These states aren't doing this without somebody at the federal level running cover for them. BIG somebodies at that...

They can get away with it because it's in a blue state and a chunk of that money is getting funneled back to democrats.

I get that that they're deep blue and sharing the fraud at the state level, but that doesn't explain the lack of fed level oversight. There's somebody in the CMS complex that stands to gain a reward/promotion and has no ties to minnesota that would be able to expose this operation. My wife tells me stories about their inspections and they'll make something up if they have to just so they can say they found something. Nobody gets a perfect score.

My biggest takeaway is federally funded programs need to be administered by feds. I'd prefer they get rid of them altogether but at least if it's all done by feds whenever we get a republican president there's some levers that can be pulled.

I don't even understand why day cares need federal funds. The internet says it's because of low wages and the day cares can't charge the fees necessary to make payroll. Sounds to me like this might actually be the opportunity the fed needs to take to get people to understand they shouldn't be having kids out of marriage, without a job, or staying in a minimum wage job as if it's a career. Stop enabling them!

You can't stop welfare because it's a DNC kickback mechanism. When you attempt to stop them, the apparatus will activate and the GOP will make every excuse in the book to capitulate.
