What's frustrating about this whole thing… I, like COUNTLESS hard-working Americans (both true blood & legally naturalized), do everything that we are asked to do, by the book, paying our fair share of taxes, not leaning on any type of government supported service (not knocking those that are, just explaining that we aren't taking anything extra), we get bills from the IRS, we get audited and pay what we are supposed to, but there are large contingents of people taking complete advantage of the system who are allowed to steal millions & millions of dollars by those in power.
How anyone of any political affiliation can justify this basic fact & justify the fraud is beyond me. Why are people not being thrown into prison for this? Like many of said, this is just one state, there is no telling our rampant the issue truly is.
But hey… you blue collar workers and independent contractors, the IRS needs your receipts for that $1,500 write off for your home office you took on your latest return!! Your return that you submitted says you need to pay $4,000 in additional tax, but we audited your file and think you need to pay $8,500! Enjoy the next 18 months of back & forth of additional documentation & audit questions meanwhile, non natives who haven't done things by the book & those above them allowing such action are swimming in millions & millions of your tax dollars we have given them!!

The charges stem from several large-scale investigations into the exploitation of federal and state-run programs:

- Child Care Centers: Recent surges in federal personnel have focused on suspected large-scale fraud within day care facilities.
Financial Impact
Federal prosecutors estimate the total fraud across 14 "high-risk" social programs in Minnesota could reach as high as
$9 billion. State audits, including a 2024 report, cited systemic oversight failures as a key reason for the scale of the theft
