ETFan implied prior service + astronaut = patriot. I clarified that IMO, ego was a larger driver. It was not an indictment of the entire astronaut corps.

I have never worked on a political campaign but I'll be working for whomever runs as a republican against Kelly when he's up for reelection, assuming this doesn't bring him down and force him to resign. My circle in Arizona are up in arms about his behavior.

There is no reason they should not have a 30-second spot running in the middle of all the big games (Thur-Sun) talking about this with Kelly and Slotkin in their own words.

Except that is not what they did. There would be no point in that. Instead they unlawfully encouraged dissension in the military chain of command. That's not just illegal, it's extremely dangerous.

I've only seen a few videos, but from what I've seen, they say to not follow unlawful orders. I didn't see where they said to hit follow all or any order.

And then they mention illegal orders...

I'm sure his people have feelers out there, and if this moment actually gets him the numbers that they hope, he might take a stab at it. I mean, what politics junky doesn't love a "My guy stuck it to the other guy." But when Gavin jumps into the race, he'll be the favorite to win it all.

At best, IF Kelly comes out of this like I know he and his people hope, the best he'll be able to get is VP.

If things go as south as those on the right hope, he'll lose credibility and might even get primaried when it's time to run again.

You rarely see such consistent anecdotals amongst people who have encountered "famous" individuals. Only other I can remember who was such a consistent arse in all situations was Bob Knight. Good friend was a guide for him on a fishing charter. Flats fishing so just guide, Bobby and one other. He figured the guy would be chill, maybe friendly. Nope, said he was a miserable arse. Tipped well, but just miserable.

Seems like Kelly is likely an order of magnitude worse than that.
