Respect to Rand Paul who is consistent in asking for the Constitution to be followed, for the rule of law to be maintained. In today's United States, it is tantamount to political suicide for a Republican to even question Trump. Paul is one of the only GOPers who does so, some of the time.

Quote:

"But the drug war … or the crime war has typically been something we do through law enforcement. And so far, they have alleged that these people are drug dealers. No one said their name. No one said what evidence. No one said whether they're armed. And we've had no evidence presented."

"So, at this point, I would call them extrajudicial killings. And this is akin to what China does, to what Iran does with drug dealers. They summarily execute people without presenting evidence to the public. So, it's wrong," Paul added.

This current policy reminds me of the Philippines and Rodrigo Duterte. The war on drugs became a recipe for extrajudicial murders. This kind of thing has played out over and over amongst these strongman regimes.

I'd be ok if we just started issuing letters of marque for privateers to start taking them out instead.

Seeing speed boats being blown up while traveling 70MPH in open water is highly entertaining, and a highlight of my day.

This is the type of news the boys what to see.

Congress declared a war on terror. It's an ongoing war with a long enemies list.. They should have considered that open ended type of objective.

We get to consider what we consider a foreign national threat, and if it is outside our jurisdiction, it may be a legitimate military target. Maybe they should quit attempting to bring deadly cargo into the United States. I am unsympathetic to the constitutionality argument here.

I like Rand Paul overall, but this is one of those issues where I'm content to let him sit in the corner and complain while everybody goes on about their business.

How is the constitution not being followed? If they are not citizens, then those attacked have no rights. I could see a question of whether these attacks are an act of war or not which would need to be declared by congress. But it seems that these attacks are not trying to start a war as much as defend us against Venezuelan threats.

Sometimes there's not an opportunity for an arrest, charges, presenting evidence, providing defenses, a ruling, or appeals. Action has to be taken based on the authority granted. That's why bad guys threatening with weapons forfeit their right to life, right then, right there. I don't see this any differently when we have drug overdoses by hundred of thousands every year.

Looks like we've finally realized the futility of trying to deal with the drug problem once it arrives on our shores and are taking a different approach to the problem.

I get you feel bad for the narcos… or more likely have disdain for anything Trump tries to accomplish. Heaven forbid he attempt to fix the issues of our country. Maybe the runners will, at some point, realize the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Then we should be addressing the source - China. They're the ones importing the drugs and giving the cartels the knowledge to synthesize it.

Some might even call them "extrajudicial killings", but not something Rand Paul has considered apparently.
The best way to keep evil men from wielding great power is to not create great power in the first place.

The ingredients for illicit fentanyl are made in China and sent to Mexico, where the Mexican cartels manufacture the fent and send it up to the US. It doesn't really come from Venezuela.

The eye doctor opining on due process. Legit.

And these boat sinkings make a difference. For every boat you blow up, 10 more chicken ****ted out of making the run.

The cartels are counting on Dems and their friends like Randy to put a stop to this so shipments can resume.

In the interim, they will try airplanes or revert to "mules" on foot through the jungle.

People also have a poor understanding of drug precursor chemicals and how drugs are refined and cut before making it to booger sugar.

Trump is doing the Lords work. Randy should be praising him.

Almost all fentanyl (like 95% or more) comes in through Mexico made with chemicals from China, not Venezuela.... cocaine traffic is what they are hitting. Fentanyl is about 80% of overdoses in the US.

If the money is already in the budget and the constitution is being followed, then I don't really see the problem

Would i rather the military be used around Mexico where there's much more activity affecting us on a more regular basis? Sure. But if these actions are making a real difference, then we've wasted money and our military on worse things like going into the ME after 9/11

Yea, that's sort of outdated. We focused pretty hard to shutting down the west coast of Mexico. So those precursors come by alternate route.

Why do people resist giving Trump credit for doing an awesome thing?

We were wrong for not going into the country (Saudi Arabia) that had the vast majority of the terrorists.

I do agree that we definitely screwed up by staying and being the quagmire.

It's buried in the Epstein files, you will just have to be patient.

Some folks have sources outside of Google, AI and the like. I don't particularly care if you believe me, but there is justification for blowing these boats out of the water.

Maybe, just maybe, Trump and his admin have more intel than Rachel Maddow and Joe Mika have.

Fentanyl does not come from Venezuela. It comes mainly from China and is smuggled through Mexico. Cocaine, which I here is a hell of a drug, comes from Venezuela.
