I am not sure if Colbert or Jimmy Kimmel was more eaten up with TDS, but it in turned Kimmel from somewhat funny when he started, to completely a shell of his former self in the last 4-5 years.

I flipped over to the Emmys during NFL commercial and saw a guy praise the power of TV in shaping culture mentioning the Handsmaid Tale. Then came back again later and it was a lady accepting a Climate Change/LGBT Ally award, while prophetically claiming "everything in life stems from 2 emotions, love and fear".

In just a couple min, I was reminded of everything that is wrong with this country. A bunch of egotistical puppets giving each other meaningless awards, pretending to be social justice heros.

That little worm was losing 40 million dollars for hosting a late night talk show and they give him an award? That's about the funniest and stupidest thing I've ever heard of all rolled into one.

They have no shame or humility so they can't be embarrassed. Hell, a grown ass man can compete against women in swimming, track, what have you...win first place, and bask in his own glory with no hint of self-awareness or embarrassment. This is what they do.

As far as I'm concerned, the only praiseworthy thing Colbert ever did was have Rush as a guest on his show. If that single appearance helped my favorite band get their long overdue acceptance into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, then it's worth a participation trophy Emmy to me.

I saw that Jean Smart is the star and her coworker on show. I wonder what Smart thought about that little outburst. I do not know what her political views are but she seems like someone who is smart enough to not do something like that.

By Nielsen TV ratings standards, his rating are very good. A 9-share (9% of all TV viewers in the US) is excellent viewership. So your assertion that his ratings "suck" simply is not accurate, especially when his closest competition is only getting a 6-share.

That's also not the reason that was given for him being canceled.
