In an attempt to catch gender, there 15 "races" on the census to choose from. They are adding "middle eastern or North African" in 2030

2020 had:
1. White
2. Black or African American
3. American Indian or Alaska native
4. Chinese
5. Vietnamese
6. Native Hawaiian
7. Filipino
8. Korean
9. Samoan
10. Asian Indian
11. Japanese
12. Chamorro (never heard of this)
13. Other Asian
14. Other Pacific Islander
15. Some other race

There was a Sikh on the Cypress police force that was allowed to wear a turban with his uniform (I think he worked for the county, but he patrolled in the Cypress area where he lived). It was navy blue to match the rest of the uniform. I thought that was super cool because it was a personal expression of his culture, and not some kind of in-your face placation to a minority community. One of my daughters was friends with some member of his extended family, not sure the connection.

He was tragically murdered on duty by a racist a-hole on meth.

Wearing a patch with a different language on it is a bridge too far, though.
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

Crazy for a city that I could find that had a population that was 84% white.

Dearborn Heights first in U.S. with Arabic on police patch

Quote:

  • The Dearborn Heights Police Department has unveiled a new, optional police patch that is the first in the U.S. to feature both English and Arabic.
  • Designed by a police officer, the new patch is meant to honor and reflect the city's large Middle Eastern and North African population.
  • The department disabled comments on its Facebook post about the patch, which celebrates the city's diverse culture.

Time for cities with large Christian populations to insist on Greek or Latin to be in Police patches
