Teachers relocating from CA, NY or IL must pass an America First test administered by PragerU before getting certified to teach in Oklahoma

I'm sure there is a trigger question on there that would get them going. A woke person trying to act like a patriot is like a mentally ill dude trying to act like a woman. You can always spot it.

Somehow they did this despite that worthless, America last Republican senator they have up there.

I think this is a smart move and every red state should follow suit. The left infiltrated this country by getting its tentacles into academia and taking it over. At least this is an effort to root them back out.

Isn't Oklahoma basically the worst public school system in America? Maybe they need to focus on education and not indoctrination.

Yes, and they have a massive teacher shortage, and their state superintendent was 'accidentally' showing porn during a board meeting. I'm sure the five liberal teachers fleeing New York and California for the opportunity of Oklahoma will make a stink. This is right wing woke.

the first question should be what color is your hair.

the second should be do you have a nose ring

You seem rather triggered about it, dont you have to hate the USA to teach in Cali

Please. There only needs to be one question: "How many genders are there?"

No other questions are really needed after that.

Sounds like re-education. Amazing how the gospel of big government is embraced by the GOP flock as soon as they have the power to use it.

I have family that left teaching jobs in OK for TX because of how terrible their system is. We should all be triggered when an education system that produces children who can't read or do math is spending more time blaming liberals in culture war bull**** than fixing their own mess.

And, yes, there will be plenty of lying to get those jobs, just like everyone who likes to get a job. If a school district is desperate for teachers, and the majority of them are, there'll be plenty of, "We didn't know she was woke, she passed out test," when parents complain about those teachers.

I think NOT indoctrinating is the whole point. An education system can be highly ranked but if it making kids woke, is it really excellent?

In Oklahoma the state standards mandate teaching that Trump actually won in 2020. Its a good thing they're fixing the real problems of reading and math and not indoctrinating children with political propaganda. Proof is in the pudding.

Finding scapegoats is much easier than actually solving problems. Too many people would rather put minimal effort into hating something/something than exerting real effort into doing something to create real change.

It's politics 101 when you think about it.

We are a cruel and hateful people. It's hard to find a more winning message in American politics than "I will hurt, harass, frustrate, persecute, or just generally make life worse for the people you don't like."

Is this true? I think it would be more accurate to teach that the weaponized federal agencies openly tampered/interefered in the 2020 election in an effort to help their boy (and your boy) Joe Biden. Thst's the honest truth, and not a single liberal can debate it with a straight face.

I'm not a Walters fan, but the showing porn accusation has been disproven.

Our teacher shortage is largely from teachers escaping classroom behaviors and the over burdening of teacher responsibilities that plague public schools across the country.

And some of the ranking statistics are skewed based on how they are collected. All public school students in Oklahoma have to take the ACT. It's an apple and oranges comparison to rank that with states where only college bound students are taking the test.

Of course, that is just context. On the whole, the public schools are suffering from the same problems the rest of the country faces and people should demand better. They mostly aren't prepared for what demanding better means.

But many are moving that way and that is why the homeschool and private school movements are so strong here. That is good for overall education, but skews the ranking numbers even further because so many good students and families are leaving the system and their performance isn't included in the rankings.

Agreed, although you do realize that what you just posted is said/thought by each side about the other, right?

And what's even more infuriating (to me) is that this is EXACTLY how the corporate overlords and their political puppets want it.

The more each side is at each other's throats, the less likely they are to find common ground (and there is plenty there) and take their fight to the overlords and their puppets.

I would rather my child have an overwhelmed conservative teacher or an oversized classroom, than be in an intimate learning setting with a godless liberal zealot from California or Portland or Seattle. Every time.

I would much rather have to help my kid play "catch-up" a little bit scholastically than ever have to try to de-program them. They are super suceptible to brainwashing at a young age and modern liberals have proven they simply cannot leave that filth at home.

Every liberal believes that my child belongs to the state, at least to some degree. That "it takes a village" Hillary Clinton nonsense.

You just described every single major metropolitan school district in the country.

I'll let you guess who has historically run those districts.

I remember when "thank God for Mississippi" used to be a thing. MS is now ranked 16th in education despite one of the lowest levels of per pupil spending. A commitment to basics and ruthless execution rather than throwing up our hands or blaming liberals (Walters) seems to be a better solution. As for the porn debacle

Ahh yes....asking a teacher to put America and American values up front is obviously re-education. I bet they have to do it from behind hastily built barbed wire and chain link fences at old drive in theaters, with loudspeakers blaring the whole time as they live in their cardboard huts too.

That's impressive that MS is ranked so high now. Whatever they're doing, other states should look into following.
