That is disgusting and I can assure you if it had been an American especially a white American he would've gotten much longer than that. Destroys lives and that's all he gets. I don't even think he'll serve the whole time. This could've been prevented. And the company needs to be heavily fined.

that's the thing. The "company" is likely a complete goat screw of shell corps and LLC's to the Patel mafia. Blue state are more than happy to certify them. Plaintiffs may never even figure out who to sue.

Several (many?) red states are complicit in this as well. But it is just unbelievable that an illegal can get a DL much less a CDL. Even if legal, if you cannot read and write English and speak English you should NOT be able to get a DL much less a CDL. And I am including all legal citizens who are native Spanish (or other) speakers which can't read/write/speak English.

Driving is not a right, it is a privilege. Our road signs are in English. It is really just common sense.

I fully support people being bi-lingual and thinks it's a good thing, but the LAW should be English, and governments should not be proving forms, ballots, DL tests, applications, etc. in any other language than English, period.

As much as I don't want the federal government involved, but there's already a law on the books, but it's not being enforced. I wonder if there is a way to tackle this enforcement through federal legislation about commercial auto liability underwriting process where there is a federal CDL registry where they must pass an English test and submit fingerprints and the only way to attain commercial auto insurance is if all your drivers are registered.

It is my understanding that there are federal requirements for CDL's that cross state lines and the blue states issuing the CDL's simply don't enforce them.

Since there is no federal state troopers it's pretty much 100% on red state governors to turn their troopers loose on them. Florida and Oklahoma have really led the way here.

I know there is that's why I said it's not being enforced. I'm proposing a way to enforce it.

Prior to US vs SEUA, insurance was not interstate commerce and fell under state, rather than federal, jurisdiction. Because of that ruling, Congress passed McCarran-Ferguson, which gave regulation back to the states so long as they were actively regulating and there was not a national need for insurance law (this was an Obamacare rational for regulation)

Fed govt can say commercial auto insurance has a national need for regulation due to deaths from drivers who attained CDLs fraudulently. Every driver that has a CDL must be in a federal register, be fingerprinted, and submit to an English test. Trucking companies must submit their payroll, drivers, and their fingerprints to the insurance companies and the companies must verify that every driver is in the register. If a driver is not in the register or they are reusing fingerprints or have fingerprints that don't match the name, etc., they must be denied coverage.

If the trucking company doesn't have commercial auto insurance or inland marine coverage, manufacturers will not hire them.

Are you proposing creating another level of federal bureaucracy to fix this issue?

But really it only gets enforced in red states after something happens. I suppose you could have it checked at a weight station, but those don't seem to be manned all that often.

I've driven in 3rd world countries and noticed the driving style is VERY different. We refer to the style as "jungle rules".
