Actually No, but any skilled at fiction novel writing or wannabes here might give the idea consideration. There are some with good sci-fi planned for example know of.

Especially after "Man in the High Castle" it might be effective to show you don't always have to assume things turned out best from before the more obvious black-and-white war of WW II.

Because these days the emphasis on getting back to trade as soon as possible tends to shorten the period of squabbling. If Texas just left, others would have to decide does it rate war if all other things were going to remain the same as far as most commerce, etc.

You are also assuming other states downtrodden by D.C. and the Left coast (guess we are presuming a restoration of Bidenism or worse here?) would not instead just join it and it snowball.

If Texas was determined and had the votes to go peacefully, the arguments for justifying opposing it by violence from the Left coast would make interesting play overseas where several detachments now have happened. This is not the 19th Century.

Per the BBC, the 35 year old arrested is determined not to have been involved and was released. Sounds like he may have been mis-identified as the attacker by witnesses at the scene.

My guess is that this was just a crazy person.

the attacker was known to authorities with a history of mental health issues.

he also apparently attacked someone else in London early Sat morning. i guess he went from there up north to continue his manic stabbing spree
