He showed admirable restraint in not shooting the perpetrator-blessed be the peacemakers-but he was in danger and would have been well within his rights to shoot the guy once he failed to drop the knife immediately. Probably before that, too. I don't think he would have been prosecuted, much less convicted, for either.

Arraignment w/ attorney commentary. Guy is homeless and has been held for at least one involuntary stay in the mental ward in the past. Very little contact with his family. He's definitely not all there.

When the judge was talking to him he started rambling nonsense about seeing some black and white video somewhere, trying to explain why he committed the crime. He was interrupted by his attorney telling him to stay silent.

I am not a knife expert. I mean, I use one every day but not for stabbing people. Help me understand how you manage to stab 10 people with a knife? There are a lot of people who could not evade a healthy young male if they wanted to stab them. You ever been to a Walmart and seen the people who shop there?

Not to mention most people probably don't know what is going on. They don't know who has the knife or even that people are getting stabbed.

There is a video that went around a year or two ago of a guy stabbing a baby in a park while the mother tries to flee. Go watch that and maybe you will understand then. It like playing a deadly game of tag.
