This is a tad misleading. Upgrading ATC capabilities is more about safety than volumes of flights. I would argue ATC is first and foremost about flight safety with volume was down at the bottom of the list.

Airlines are not going to fly more flights just because the ATC provides additional capacity. And it is stupid to think so. Only so many hours in a day, so many runways and taxiways, pilots, flight attendants, baggage handlers, jet mechs, and on and on. Then throw in demand. They already fly some flights that are not near capacity.

Has the Trump administration directed additional funds so that more planes can safely fly?
