First reported by the Houston Chronicle, cloud seeding involves releasing silver iodide into clouds to increase rainfall under specific conditions. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, it is used in select areas of West and South Texas, typically during dry seasons to enhance precipitation.

The claim that cloud seeding played a role in this tragic event is complete nonsense," said Andrew Dessler, director of Texas A&M University's Texas Center for Extreme Weather.

I can't believe that there are regulars on the outdoor this board that act as though cloud seeding is a new thing or that it had anything to do with the flooding.

Some times the village idiot needs to just shut up and stay in the village.

Edit: I just realized this was on Politics, not Outdoor. Thank goodness.

What do you define as "play God"? I see this thrown around a lot with no definition or limit as to what constitutes it.
Bringing dinosaurs back to life probably fits the definition.

And they will still believe it because 2020 broke their brains.

I'm still in the phase where I generally give the government and officials the benefit of the doubt on most things.

Some things I'm past that for now. Corruption, MIC, endless wars etc…

Like I said, I want to believe most of these things aren't true but for **** sake, they do get it right way more often than I am comfortable with.

Few Questions:

1. How long does the "seeding" stay in the atmosphere after being released?

2. How do you know that this seeding dissipates after x days/hours? What research has been done?

3. How is it released into the air?
When is this time that you're talking about "when most people said that cloud seeding wasn't a thing." Cloud seeding has been going on in west Texas since at least the early '80s. It was talked about openly. Are you just making **** up?

The Chronicle story linked in the OP is about conspiracy theories and says that cloud seeding is one of them. It'll be difficult to sue them over that. (More to the point, the quoted material in the OP was poorly worded.)

Did she claim that cloud seeding was directly responsible for this flooding, or did she simply just copy Desantis months after he led the charge on signing a bill to ban geoengineering and cloud seeding in the state of Florida?

I will say this...as long as we have crazy secular leftists like Bill Gates, and multiple governments in Western Europe talking about spraying aerosols and particles to help dim the sun and mitigate climate change, we will have people that wonder if there could be nefarious uses or if these programs could backfire in any way.

You're against this geoengineering that Bill Gates and the UK are for, right?

She ran out to say she is introducing a bill to ban cloud seeding and geoengineering right after Flynn started the whole thing.

And yes, what Bill Gates and the UK want to do is lunacy and not even remotely comparable to cloud seeding.

Cloud seeding has been around for 50+ years. How it works is well documented.

Anyone who said it doesn't exist is uninformed.

1. The material lasts for a few hours or less, depending on what is used. Dry ice dissipates very quickly.

2. As I said, it has been done for decades and it is well understood so it is based on experience. "Research" is not needed to understand it.

3. Aircraft

Now a question for you.

Why do you want the flood be caused by cloud seeding?
Anyone blaming this flood on cloud seeding doesn't know what they're talking about. Weather modification/cloud seeding has been a regulated industry in this state for decades, and it has caused zero problems. It is done in individual instances on a small scale from a geographic perspective to bring rain to dry areas of the state. There is nothing new or novel about it, and it certainly had no impact on the recent flooding.

A was cloud seeding used in this area yes or no?

C what authority did that person have to be given that much power
D did the citizens of that area get to vote on this and if you say it's from representative government than who in the legislator of Texas gave these people this power and not to tell the citizens I have never heard of this that it was being used. I thought this was all tin foil hat stuff.

No I'm asking you to give me the answers and this is the answers that everybody deserves as a citizen of Texas that was hurt or affected in this

Whoever is allowed to do cloud seeding that person needs to be under oath and investigated who gives him this power when do they use it and what are the parameters.

I don't want to know if it doesn't cause floods I don't want you to tell me what parameters you think it works or doesn't work. This needs to be investigated

This is like telling the parent that has autistic children that vaccines don't have any issues.

Yet 1 and 40 do
And just since the past few months people are more open to talking about it because the hepatitis b
Vaccine there's a 4,000% chance of autism over not having it.

Yet we were told you're full of crap the science is debunked this and it's not proven and y'all are just conspiracy crazy people.

So back to the flooding where is the exact data that no cloud seeding was used anywhere near it.
Who makes that decision
Who carries out that cloud seeding operation
Which legislator grants that authority
And those people should be investigated under oath

Not told it wasn't the reason for it.

If you are trying to make rain and you are putting stuff in the atmosphere to make rain you absolutely this should be very heavily regulated and the citizens of Texas or whatever state you're in should know everything about it.

I the '80s, the decision to cloud seed would literally be made by a small town council, mayor, and city manager. This has been going on for decades. You act like there is some cloud czar responsible for these decisions.
