Talk about a conspiracy theory that took off like gangbusters on social media. This one has grown quickly.

Quote:

First reported by the Houston Chronicle, cloud seeding involves releasing silver iodide into clouds to increase rainfall under specific conditions. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, it is used in select areas of West and South Texas, typically during dry seasons to enhance precipitation.

The claim that cloud seeding played a role in this tragic event is complete nonsense," said Andrew Dessler, director of Texas A&M University's Texas Center for Extreme Weather.

I dont know anything about this. But always remember that there was a time when when people on this site would call you a loon for saying Covid escaped the lab and that the vax didn't do crap.

You know who you are and you created a whole lot of conspiracy theorists that previously minded their own business and followed the corporate media narrative.

All started with Michael Flynn implying that cloud seeding caused the flood.

MTG picked it up and the Q wing of the political right ran with it like they do every damn conspiracy theory.

And they will still believe it because 2020 broke their brains.

It's because Texas uses water on its crops. Texas needs to start using Brawndo. It has electrolytes. it has what plants crave.

I remember a time when most people said that cloud seeding wasn't a thing.

Now, we have everyone admitting that it is real, but that this event was totally nature made and not aided by man-made cloud seeding.

Few Questions:

1. How long does the "seeding" stay in the atmosphere after being released?

2. How do you know that this seeding dissipates after x days/hours? What research has been done?

3. How is it released into the air?

When they he Democrats/media want to shut someone up, they will call it a "conspiracy theory." That does not make it one.

There were only two possibilities about where the virus came from, the lab or nature.

To use a more recent one, the claim Biden was mentally deficient and someone else was running the White House was called a conspiracy theory by the Democrats/media. It never actually was one because Biden's mental decline was visible for everyone to see. The left simply chose to ignore it and denigrate anyone who pointed it out.

I'm not going to go through the list again of everything that the left called a "conspiracy theory" in 2020 which was never an actual conspiracy theory.

The cloud seeding crap was put forward by someone on the right as a conspiracy theory. Those rarely prove to be true.

I thought this theory was complete nonsense from the first I heard of it. But now that I see Andrew Dessler is debunking it, I am far more likely to believe it.

Cloud seeding has been around for 50+ years. How it works is well documented.

Anyone who said it doesn't exist is uninformed.

1. The material lasts for a few hours or less, depending on what is used. Dry ice dissipates very quickly.

2. As I said, it has been done for decades and it is well understood so it is based on experience. "Research" is not needed to understand it.

cloud seeding is real and was used in the vietnam war. i do not know if or how it is being used today or if it had something to do with the event in texas or new mexico but i am 100% certain this is a real thing and has been used for decades. some are dismissive of this technology as if it doesn't exist. it does.

2020 + Q broke the brains of a very large number of people on the political right. Now they see everything as some kind of nefarious act. They'll blame the next hurricane, volcano, or earthquake on some kind of evil plot by XYZ because none of those things happened before.

The left has been broken since 2000.

I don't want cloud seeding to have caused anything. But what I have found is when man tries to play God, bad things tend to happen (and for good reason).

Thanks for answering the questions. Storms are so damn unpredictable without throwing any sort of "gasoline" or help on it.

If you want to know how far off the reservation some people are, look at the theories that they believe in. This is one. If these people start to make sense to you, then you should do some deep soul searching.

I saw a facebook post on the 2nd of July that talked about the weather and rain opportunities due to the storm and how similar this setup was to 1987. I laid sod on the 3rd as a result. We live on a pile of rocks, and this is ALWAYS a possibility in this area. We don't need to seed clouds, mother nature can take care of herselt.

I'm a big fan of we shouldn't be trying to engineer the weather. Maybe cloud seeding had nothing to do with it. Maybe there was "0-20%" more rain because of it. Would be great if they'd stop trying to engineer the weather and viruses and what not.

What do you define as "play God"? I see this thrown around a lot with no definition or limit as to what constitutes it.

Cloud seeding had zero to do with it. We knew exactly why it happened, how it happened, and what would happen.

This area floods. That's why the entire area is dissolved limestone ravines. You need regular intervals of flooding to make that happen over hundreds of thousands of years.
