Blocked by the DOJ

That's the consistent theme and will be how Trump is remembered on this.

If only Biden would have done something.

Oh wait.

"B-but muh Biden" is not an acceptable excuse for the current DOJ. We were promised transparency from the Trump DOJ on this issue and they turned their backs on it once elected.

So President Biden just followed President Trump's policy? Sure wish he hadn't done that. Yet it's a new day and we don't have to keep making the same mistakes.

The thing is I don't recall any democrats calling for the Epstein files release prior to Trump coming into office. I remember many Republicans who are now in the administration ranting about it for years saying they would expose, release, and go after the criminals if they were in power!

It was really only after Trump created the narrative that it was a Democrat hoax and the administration doing everything they could not to release them the democrats joined in.

If Trump is innocent and there isn't anything significant about him why would Biden release them? He was doing exactly what Trump appears to be doing! Protecting the elites and not exposing ties to intelligence.

The difference is Republicans campaigned on it !

This is Trump's legacy sadly.

Well sure but after the midterms his political career is not going to be so fun. When the term first began I had high hopes he could help keep republican control of Congress. Now after killing off some of his own new base it's going to be a circus after the midterms. Way worse than the first term circus.

Crazy world we live in when criminals know they're safe bc of their association with government approved pedophilia. DOJ has to choose targets carefully these days

Trump has fumbled the goodwill he had with independents by getting into another regime change war and directing his DOJ to protect pedophiles, now even he is saying they probably wont have successful midterms. You can bury your head in the sand if you want, but its likely he'll have a lame duck presidency full of phony impeachment distractions.

But hey at least his pal Lutnick saved face!

Well we know Congress is worthless.
But do they have the investigative resources the DOJ does?

Melania states there are others involved and that victims should come to testify to Congress. She's not serious about anyone being held responsible. She was just worried about what blew up involving her. (Which just disappeared)

If she was she'd call for the DOJ to actually investigate instead of saying there is nothing to investigate!

The President created this. He called it all a hoax and you're a moron if you don't move on.

"When asked whether he believed it was a favorable deal to issue a pardon in return for Maxwell's testimony, Comer said, "A lot of people do."

"My committee's split on that," he added, declining to name who on the panel supported granting a pardon. "I don't speak for my committee."

Comer himself wasn't in favor.

"I think it looks bad," he said. "Honestly, other than Epstein, the worst person in this whole investigation is Maxwell."

Rep. Robert Garcia of California, the Oversight panel's top Democrat, emphasized that committee Democrats unanimously opposed a pardon for Maxwell.

"That would be a huge step backwards, and, quite frankly, so disrespectful to the survivors," he said in an interview. "She is a known abuser. She is a known liar."

Republicans keep finding new ways to shoot themselves in the foot over this issue. "Hey elect us and we'll reveal the truth about an alleged pedophile ring. LOL JK now we might pardon Epstein's right hand (wo)man"

Unless it results in scores of big names getting taken down, this is a terrible idea.

Now if you're suddenly arresting people like Bill Gates or something (not saying literally him, but that stature) then you'll be completely forgiven. Nobody really cares about Maxwell, just how she was such a key part of the whole organization. If she rots in prison and nobody else ever gets brought to justice, that's definitely not doing right by the victims either.

It's about time something like this happened. No coincidence it kicked off so soon after Bondi was fired.

"The Justice Department's chief watchdog said Thursday that his office is launching an audit of the department's compliance with the law compelling the release of millions of pages of investigative material tied to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The review will focus on how the Justice Department identified the more than 3 million documents it has made public since late last year, the guidelines used to determine what information to redact or hold back, and how officials have addressed concerns raised over the disclosures in the months since.

"If circumstances warrant, the OIG will consider addressing other issues that may arise during the course of the audit," the inspector general's office said in a statement. It said the office will issue a report at the end of its inquiry, summarizing its investigators' findings."

So let me make sure I understand what you are saying. If she can take down " more well known" individuals her crimes against minors would be " completely forgiven"? That's a big NO!

New details uncovered about Epstein's abuse in the UK.

"The BBC searched through millions of pages of records gathered by the US Department of Justice in its investigation of the disgraced financier, and released as part of the Epstein files, in order to piece together the most detailed picture yet of his operation in the UK.

It shows how the operation grew more extensive than was previously known, with more victims, established infrastructure such as housing, and frequent transportation of women across borders, right up to Epstein's death, despite warnings to UK police."

That is precisely the sort of investigation that DOJ should have done here but Bondi (i.e. Trump) wouldn't allow.

If Maxwell continues to stonewall, she should be yanked out of the cushy minimum-security farm she's in and sent to a supermax until she complies.

She never should have been rewarded in the first place for essentially revealing nothing.

Immunity isn't forgiveness. Legally or morally. And since her crimes are part of enabling powerful people to do horrible things... I'd much rather get them.

It's pretty straightforward IMO. Epstein is already facing his ultimate justice and Ghislane is going to have the same reckoning. It's more important to stop, punish, and prevent these crimes in a holistic way than it is to get overly attached to a single person's consequences, no?

I have been of the opinion that President Trump, while an acquaintance of Jeffery Epstein, did nothing wrong. The Todd Blanche interview and the floating of "pardon Maxwell" suggestion make me question my conclusion.

And still nobody knows how after her meeting she was relocated.
We are supposed to believe that the AG had no idea. The one removed so she would not have to appear to Congress again.

Trump has chosen to protect people involved. It seems to be the hill to die on for him. Just imagine how much better things would have gone had he chosen the opposite.

You're right, I'd forgotten that.

But with Bondi gone, the DOJ Inspector General has suddenly launched an investigation into how the department handled the Epstein matter. Perhaps it will get to the bottom of Maxwell's sweetheart deal while doing that.

See my related "DOJ" post earlier on this page.

It's crazy it's even a conversation but Trump has even floated it out there a while back during his whole it's a hoax skit.

At this point based on how Trump has handled this I would not be surprised. Trump had no real blowback from the private meeting and prison relocation.

Just from reading this board I suspect many would be good with this. She provided no information (publicly ) and got moved to Clubfed. Yet, it would make no sense. Maxwell's crimes were not victimless.

It makes sense if you consider that she was moved not for what she said but what she didn't say.

The official narrative is she was moved for her protection. I'm not sure how she gets more protection in minimum security at that is what Blanche said.

It was explained at the time that prisoners are often rotated. Her higher profile adds another complexity in where she is "stored". A lower security prison is indeed going to be safer for the inmates. She would be at higher risk of violence from other inmates than from interacting with the general public.

If you wanted to be "safer" in prison, would you prefer to stay at minimum security in Bryan or gen pop at Angola?

Now, whether that official narrative is legit or not can be debated. But to act as though she received some wildly special treatment is misleading and inaccurate.

BTW - Todd Blanche has been very clear that the FBI and DOJ are completely satisfied they handed over all responsive documents from the Massie-Khanna clown show act. No OIG report or congressional hearing is going to change that.

Is that justice for the victims? Absolutely not. But that shipped sailed when people long ago for whatever their reasons let Epstein and Ghislaine slide for their crimes. Since then it's all noise and misdirection.

Just like everything else you Epsteiners hang your hats on, it is simply a claim someone made.

Of course, you believe every claim in FBI files no matter what such as Trump throwing a baby into Lake Michigan and burying bodies on his golf course, which he didn't even own at the time.

I think all DOJs have provided basic safety for incarcerated individuals. It's important to note that their suicide prevention activities can be a bit suspect.

But what you are constructing is a strawman. That's fine, but let's be clear what it is.

I am not saying flown-the-coop nor the DOJ have a soft spot for convicted child sex traffickers… those people will be held to account one day whether here terrestrially or with their maker.

But the concept here is that generally inmates are protected from threats against them by other inmates.

Do we think this is "better" if Ghislaine is murdered with a sharpened spork whilst working in the kitchen making PB&Js for her fellow inmates? My suspicion is that would lead to all the same bizarro ideas and theories about how Epstein was murdered by Mossad (or abducted) from his cell in NYC.

Don't do the vague "pedo protector" nonsense. It's lame.

I don't think they publish such data, but were any of the convicted charges classified as violent?

Also, same rationale applies that provided earlier. Keeping her away from violent inmates at a higher security level prison has its own problems.

Whilst I may personally think she should be on Florence, CO, that's not how it played out for her.

So maybe I should clarify that amongst non-violent, celeb criminals, I don't believe she is getting wildly special treatment.

Her getting sporked ignites even further conspiracy fervor. Nobody wants that.
Im Gipper

Has nothing to do with "violent". Her sex crimes render her ineligible for minimum security prison.

He is getting special treatment. Perhaps it's warranted to protect her. But she is getting special treatment.
