Texas would crush this in minutes
They didn't during the '20 riots which led to a few deaths, most notably the AK toting loser. Hopefully Abbott crushes anything like that instead of letting mobs take over downtown.
If this happens in Texas, and Abbott didn't quell it super pronto, I'm certain armed citizens would show up to handle it. There will be some protestors killed and some citizens getting jailed, but that'll put an end to them.

The AP says it is Trump's fault.

Quote:

LOS ANGELES (AP) Tensions in Los Angeles escalated Sunday as thousands of protesters took to the streets in response to President Donald Trump's deployment of the National Guard, blocking off a major freeway and setting self-driving cars on fire as law enforcement used tear gas, rubber bullets and flash bangs to control the crowd.

That is a blatant lie. It is the lie the democrats are telling.
Everything is trumps fault. Thats the standard lib line. Just blame Trump. I don't think any sane person believes that lie any more.

Newsome is desperately trying to save his presidential run in 2028

But the problem is 1) they can not spin the message on this one without looking like the "fiery but mostly peaceful idiots in 2020 because there's too much plain video evidence showing that Dem protestors started this by attacking federal agents and facilities and the riots are not peaceful and 2) He can't back down now that he's taken the position of "defying Trump"

Now that he's totally committed to the lie of "Everything was peaceful and under control until Trump sent in the NG!" his only move left here is to try and somehow seize the NG back (good luck) remove them from the city and then have the paid agitators stop and go home and then claim "See?!?? I told you it was Trumps fault but I saved the day!"

The Japanese do not riot like we do. That's because Japan is still 99% Japanese.

They have their own problems - Abe was assassinated by a home made* (thx for the correction) shotgun. Japan also has a problem with religious cults - it's a cultural thing - but was the cause of the anthrax gas attack on the Tokyo subway in the 90s but again, that was a targeted Japanese attack on the Japanese.

Here, we have divided segments of population with deep seeded resentments towards each other, mix in a lot of loyalty to the home country (see flags of Mexico Ecuador Venezuela etc) with some classic anti white racism and you've got our powder keg.

There's something to be said for homogenous societies. They tend to behave. I wonder why.

It was sarin, not anthrax in the Tokyo subway attack. But Aum Shinryko was researching and attempting to produce other WMDs , including bioweapons.

The videos of cars on fire, public buildings defaced, and masked guys waving mexican flags in front of the flames should be part of TV ads run in every house and senate race for the mid-terms. This is the America the dems want for you. These are the people they want to let in and spend your money on to pay for welfare and healthcare.

Japanese traditional culture is still heavily influenced by Buddhism and Shintoism in a good way. Unfortunately, that will change as the older generations die out and the generations raised on anime, manga, and hentai replace them.

Soros needs to fire his riot planning and PR guy. Videos of protesters chucking bricks at cops' heads and burning cars while waving Mexico flags isn't gonna win many people to the cause, especially while ICE is sharing the rap sheets of the worst illegals that they've scooped up (and they're horrifyingly ****ing terrible). Anybody with half a brain is watching this and thinking "Jesus maybe Trump was right about the invasion stuff."

I don't understand why democrats are going to bat for criminal illegals over ICE. I get that politicians' knee jerk reaction is to do the opposite of whatever the other party is doing, but they care about getting reelected way more than that, and this is a boat anchor loser at the ballot box. This is worse than supporting the students who were vandalizing college campuses because... Israel invaded Gaza 5k miles away?

Look at how fast he's tried to pivot away from some of his unpopular actions - he is the quintessential, "talking out of both sides of his mouth" politician. And this is not an issue that's going to get him elected. **** he might be torpedoing his presidential campaign right now.

Donald Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, revealed that the raids that ignited the LA protests were part of a thorough criminal investigation - not a random migrant round-up.
Homan explained on MSNBC that the raids that took place in downtown Los Angeles were the result of a criminal investigation into money laundering.
'That's why no one is talking about the Fashion District, it wasn't an immigration raid. It was to service of three criminal warrants at locations based on a large criminal conspiracy that ICE is investigating,' Homan said.
'That has to do with money laundering, tax evasion and customs fraud where a company under-declared over $80 million in goods, failed to pay $17 million in fees. And it's part of an overall conspiracy on numerous businesses that they believe that some of this money is being laundered in Mexico and Colombia, the cartel activity.'
Homan noted the raids were no unsolicited migrant round-ups, but specific arrests were made based on warrants.
'So, this was a criminal investigation that they all responded to in the beginning. That's how it all started. But the facts never got out,' he said.

Aa for Abbott, if he's worth his salt, he's already got his people putting a plan in place for the chance that Trump does this in red states.

I'm currently in Canada and "news" and "media" articles are blocked on social media. As well my hotel only has some PNW local channels for US channels. Hotels usually have a few national channels, FOX and CNN, but we're slumming it here.

I will say, I really don't see how protestors/rioters waving foreign flags is sending the message the Democrats want. I did see a lot of leftist propaganda posts by my usual suspects on social media yesterday but today they've gone quite. Did things escalate or get undeniable between yesterday and today?

You're overestimating his character and ideological commitment. He's said and done Marxist things because that's what the California voters wanted. As those have become unpopular, he's dropped them and pivoted to more moderate stances.

None of the things I'm saying are a compliment. The dude is the definition of slimy politician who will do whatever is required to acquire power.

Its called TDS. The politicians that truly support all this antifa and rioting nonsense are far left true believer Dems like Omar and Tlaib who can run on radicalism and get elected. But the so called "moderate Dems" are so consumed with TDS and their constituencies are so consumed to hate Trump for everything, that they're forced to align themselves with true radicals to maintain their anti-Trump positions. Newsome would be outcast in his party if he were to work with Trump to clean up California despite that being actually good for his national aspirations.
