I did see a lot of leftist propaganda posts by my usual suspects on social media yesterday but today they've gone quite. Did things escalate or get undeniable between yesterday and today?

You're overestimating his character and ideological commitment. He's said and done Marxist things because that's what the California voters wanted. As those have become unpopular, he's dropped them and pivoted to more moderate stances.
