I had my roof replaced about a month ago and my biggest fear was the old roof would be torn off and prior to the new going on ICE would show up. The entire crew appeared Guatemalan. They were amazing. The removal and replacement took one day, 12 hours. 32 squares.

I am old enough to remember when construction crews were white dudes. Somehow we built things before mass illegal immigration.

Come to the border, get photo-ed, finger printed, and DNA sample. We give you an ID that allows you to come here and work. As long as you do not break any laws, you can come and go back and forth to your home country and your job here.

You can still pay them below minimum wage as they are not subject to US wage laws. It is a negotiated wage between the two parties. Govt needs to stay out of it.

They used to go home after work was done (seasonal). Now they get free healthcare, education, etc because they don't go home. We still pay for them but in different ways that change communities. Ask towns like Cleveland Texas what they think. School districts that have tripled in size in 2-3 years have unbelievable burdens on the tax base.
