I dunno. That's what we always called them. I've eaten hundreds if not thousands of pounds of them over my life.

We'd eat crawdads at a crawfish boil.
Fishing baits - crawdads
Eating - crawfish


crayfish anything outs you as a pure and simple yankee just as calling a pecan a pee - can.

Yeah, if you do any of the following, we're gonna get a posse, some Pace picante sauce and some rope.

- Say crayfish
- Call it anything other than picawn (especially peekins)
- Wash your hands with wurter.
- Ask for a pop or fizz. (Cola is acceptable, but you better know what kind you want).
