My Dad never had cable tv or even internet service, but since the advent of digital broadcast television, he had about 45 or 50 channels that were in English. There was no shortage of things to watch. Although, he pretty much just watched the news and weather.

For the record, I don't think she's an idiot or out of touch. I think she's an ethically corrupt ideologue that can't come up with a better justification for NPR/PBS to continue receiving taxpayer money. She's probably compromised and worried about the very real possibility of some legal skeletons coming out of the closet.
Took me a minute to get this one, but well done.Quote:

She is probably talking about the parts of NYC she considers rural.

Left leaning CEOs think their own employees are out of touch peasants who need to abide by a rule set they themselves are above. We saw this during COVID and with the DEI fad.

Yep. Hard to believe people not smart enough to get an ID could possibly use modern technology.BigRobSA said:cryption said:
I tell ya what my house off a gravel road in the middle of nowhere has super fast starlink internet. So I get my into from TexAgs … or anything else on the internet. Because rural doesn't mean stupid. Cmon now.

AM radio does phenomenally well in rural areas. NPR is generally FM and good for city reception only.
I recall driving through New Mexico in the 1980s and the state put the NPR station in Albuquerque or Santa Fe on repeaters along the rural highways. Was the only thing to listen to back then in the car and we were bored out of our skulls. Thank God for satellite radio and streaming online stations now.
Same here and even at my age I was able to get the Starlink going in only 20 minutes or so. And 190 to 202 mbps.cryption said:

Well according to many, you guys are the only ones who picked cotton or hoed a row. We all know all white people just sat in the house and ate bonbons.

Only white wives, who do nothing until 30 minutes before their husband comes home, eats bonbons.
Personally, I would rather have Laffy Taffy and frooties.

I've watched Aggie football lose from a deer blind more times than I'd like to admit. Nobody told me I could only watch three over the air channels using rabbit ears and a handheld radio for NPR when I'm down at the camp house.
