Still not voting for him in whatever election he runs for next, primary or general. Just like his last two elections.

I decided to look up my senator and congresswoman and see how they voted. Senator Donna Campbell voted against (I think she sponsored the bill), and Carrie Isaac didn't even bother to vote on the most opinionated bill the legislature has seen in a while.

So glad my representatives are looking out for my individual liberties here in Dripping Springs.

I did email both (as well as Abbott) to tell them how disappointed I am as a conservative.

Dan Patrick is capitalizing today on a THC bust that happened in Dallas over the weekend. Except for the fact that what those guys were doing was indeed illegal, that doesn't mean that everyone is doing illegal activity.

And no word either way from Abbott. He isn't talking much about it.

I for one am really looking forward to losing one of my best methods to keep my mental health in check. Just in time for my busy season too.

It didn't because the right has incredibly short memories and is too optimistic their leaders that duped them last time will not dupe them the next time. Hopefully people's memories lengthen and he loses his next primary election so limited gov conservatives can win with a better candidate in the general.

Stock up on your favorite gummies!!! And then it's back to finding a drug dealer? Good god - of course the only thing that comes out of Texas gov is more bans and more taxes.

There was one in Waco/Temple over the weekend too. Apparently the flower being sold was over the thc limit.

This is getting ridiculous. Abbot has until Sunday night, but this is the last working day for him to veto this stupid bill. He know's what he's going to do by now, but he's trying to use some secret strategy to indicate how hard he's considering it.

A non-signature is a coward's way out and the same as signing it. My respect for him is dropping by the hour.

yeah I've pretty much resigned myself to this. Absolute cowardice from the governor to let this happen when he could veto it with a strong message to put in some reasonable regulations during the special session and actually address industry and public concerns instead of being daddy Dan's gimp.

I would hope most people realize that Abbott has duped a sizeable portion of the conservative agenda and they have lost a significant amount of respect for Abbott, regardless of whether he vetos this bill or not.

And most importantly, I hope those people have long memories when it comes time to vote in primaries and the general.

This is where I'm at.

I don't need THC products, legal or otherwise. But I like having the freedom to choose whether or not I purchase them. How adults choose to wind down in the evening is none of Dan Patrick's f'n business. Abbott could've shut this down the day it was passed. But he's going to sit on his hands and do nothing for fear of pissing one side off, so he chooses to piss both sides off via cowardly inaction.

I hope I'm wrong and he signs the bill or the veto, but I have no faith he has the guts to do either.

Literally, hundreds are pending right now.

A lot of things adults choose to do is none of Dan Patrick's business, but that has never stopped him or Abbott from interfering in the lives of Texans before.

I'm about as anti-marijuana as one will find, and will never think it should be legal.

That said, this bill is gross overreach, although I think THC vapes should be prohibited as that is where the real problem lies with underage use. Add some rules to make it harder for underage people to purchase and leave it at that. If it becomes a extremely serious problem, revisit it in 2 years. If that happens, maybe put it under the medical marijuana program so it can be purchased by those who need it.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Sorry, the "well I wanted to make decision but just got buried under others in line" BS excuse doesn't fly. This bill is too high profile and he knows it.
