It seems like Elon was too nerdy and awkward to have a fun childhood, so he's making up for lost time and things have gotten out of hand.

Psychedelics are fun, but they damage your brain if you abuse them. Contrary to popular opinion, they do not make you more creative, and they have little, if any, medicinal or therapeutic value. They make you laugh and sometimes hallucinate, and eventually they rot your brain.

Elon was a pretty smart guy at one time. This would explain a lot. I genuinely hope he gets clean someday. He'll certainly have some stories to tell.

There are reams of actual scientific data that contradicts most of what you just said.

They are powerful and should certainly be used with caution, but they absolutely have therapeutic value and it's positively absurd to suggest they don't increase creativity.

He's done some pretty dumb stuff in the past few years. Overpaying for twitter. Alienating Tesla's customer base. Promising to cut $2 trillion with DOGE and settling for less than 1% of that amount. Naming his kid X1928+} or whatever. You have to admit that substance abuse would explain a lot.

What price would you put on freedom? Many good men were willing to pay the ultimate price. In hindsight, what Elon paid for it was a bargain.

The evidence for the therapeutic benefits of psychedelics is actually pretty scant. I agree that they may have some therapeutic value in very small doses. What we do know for sure is that too much will melt your brain. That is stone cold scientific fact that I doubt anyone on this board will disagree with.

Creativity is a much more nuanced issue. Do many creative people use psychedelics? Sure! Do those psychedelics influence their art? Absolutely. But to say that the psychedelics made those people more creative is a specious argument. Elon and John Lennon and Jim Morrison were already extremely creative people before they took any psychedelics. I think creativity and weirdness are often conflated.
