Came across this one digging for something else this am. (From 2021) "State department sees 'nostalgia for Soviet times in parts of the population fed by Russian disinformation.'"


The whole thread is fairly comical. If I had access to the laughing emoji still I'd have used that one for this.

"African Development Foundation" shockingly was engaged in embezzlement/theft.

And yes, oh by the way, the Somali scams were also often tied to USAID funding, despite 'community notes.'

The Trump EPA refuses to light taxpayer dollars on fire, which is exactly what the Biden Administration enthusiastically did. The days of these absurd green slush funds are OVER!

Federal grants are not my bailiwick but unless Abrams was giving kickbacks to obtain those grants what else can she be charged with here? Lying on the grant application? Are those under oath or something?

I guess maybe the old Mueller Two Step of defrauding the U.S.?

Any requests for payment under those grants will come with a legal attestation. That may allow her to pin it on whoever signed those payment applications.

On the federally funded programs we work for all include pretty extensive clawback provisions. For our work, the gubmit could visit one of our projects and decide we didnt use the right nail on the roof. We would then owe the program back what we were paid for the roof and what it cost the program to get another contractor to reroof.

And this actually happened to one of our competitors.

Tl;dr the folks from these programs better have had good lawyers write up their LLCs that were part of the scamming; and we should freeze their bank accounts until they can prove their innocence.
