She's an idiot but the last two administrations are just evidence of two thingsā€¦.the importance of immigration law reform and the complete ineptitude of both parties to get anything done. I'd suggest the republicans are better off working on reform now while they have numbers but it will never happen. Both parties will see it as "weakness" going into mid-terms and would rather hope to retain (or gain) majority so they can beat the other party over the head rather than create a long-term sustainable solution.

Ben Shapiro is correct on the assimilation issue. Until the New Deal and the social welfare state expansion from the 60s on, immigrants had to assimilate to survive. They told their kids to learn English, study hard, get an education, and advance their family as Americans. That isn't necessary any longer and it is causing the problems we see today.

Add to that the cost of ESL programs in schools. Ive had hs employees tell me that they learned more English basically by immersion working for me than they ever did in school. I also stress those special words they don't teach in class.
