Around 22:30 they got into a discussion around the cartels here. Prince' ideas around possibly using Tier 1 units to blast the cartels (whom he identifies as funded/organized by the Chinese) into oblivion over this stuff is not…the worst idea I have heard in the past 10 years.



He notes the previous two American invasions/incursions into Mexico, and TLDW favors small covert actions by tier 1 units, basically.

It would seem the cartels would welcome people back - they get to charge them again to cross. Maybe it's their foot soldiers they don't want to get back and have to replace in the US.

Although out of use for a century or more, Article I Section 8 authorizes Congress to issue Letters of Marque and Reprisal. Such would authorize private military companies such as Blackwater to carryout such activities for a share of the loot instead of being government employees.

Cartels do love their toys.

I'm more concerned about cartels crossing the border to take hostages to deter any attack.

Sure, we could do that. But it results in more collateral damage, not less (and attendant bad PR)…and Blackwater went out of existence over 10 years ago.

We have units of highly trained men who can have a devastating impact on the cartels if given orders to do so.

I agree they won't. Just saying C130s flying over open water is less bumpy. Out trips to Costa Rica they go over water also and not over land. Don't ever believe everything on social media as true

This reminds me of the scene in the movie Cheech and Chong's "Up in Smoke" when Pedro's (Cheech's) cousin called U.S. Immigration on himself and his family so they can get a free bus ride to his uncle's wedding in Tijuana, Mexico.
