I've never seen someone champion a cause so forcefully and get slammed so much as Elon. At this pace he will be out of the administration before it even starts.

Yep. Every American citizen of every race should hate the program. Yes I am mad specifically as a white American but this is much bigger than that because it directly affects all American citizens and is deliberately used to depress wages and hire foreigners over Americans. There are many stories of American born Asians, Indians, etc being fired for foreigner born people because the company can pay them less.

It's literally nothing but a scam.

And it's by design. These supposed elites know exactly what they are doing. They hate the fact that they have to follow OSHA laws.

It's becoming clear that some tech leaders proactively only want to hire H1Bs and not Americans. It may become necessary that we need to stop these anti-Americans up to and including deportation. Or perhaps more Luigis will step up, not that I condone violence. I understand it but disagree with it.

As someone who has a family member with and worked with those with Autism, even if they're vomiting everything in their brain, it's all exactly what's in their brain,

So when Elon says, "The "contemptible fools" I'm referring to are those in the Republican Party who are hateful, unrepentant racists. They will absolutely be the downfall of the Republican Party if they are not removed," you know he means it.

I don't know. The consensus is that the past few days have called Elon's motivations or objectives into question. Is he for Americans or is he for H1Bs? The two are exclusive.

I'm open to hearing other ideas but H1Bs were meant as last resorts, not the initial/only path for business hiring. Or do you agree with Elon? And if Elon prefers foreign hires, I'm uncertain why he's not opening facilities in those countries.

We need to take America back for Americans.

Its simple economics. These visas, absent very strict oversight and crackdowns on fraud, allow businesses to pay their employees in residency and citizenship instead of market wages and especially competitive retention.

The company pays them in something the government provides, (ie it is actually a subsidy). Residency and citizenship are also meaningless benefits that you already got if you're already American. We dont need to work 70+ hours a week to try to get it.

Visas should be shorter term and require an absolute demonstration of a lack of Americans to do the role. After seeing some of the stuff posted on here I'm in favor of scrapping the programs. Bring over the truly exceptional as actual immigrants instead of on visas and bring over the farm laborers and such on six month visas in which they have to come solo without family.

Honestly, I think Elon is for Elon.

I mean, the guy was a Dem forever when it suited him, and then he didn't just become a conservative; he went as far right as needed because that was where the winning ticket was going to be, thereby giving him the greatest influence into policies (H1-B visas, etc.).

I prefer Americans hire only Americans, but when they hire illegals left and right, for those jobs that require higher skills/education, it's not hard to see why other businessmen, like Elon, would want to hire people from other countries.

If you can only hire someone from outside of the US because of lack of available employees in the US, there should be a federal tax. Formula = What does an American cost to do that job minus what you're paying the H1B person. The employer shouldn't care about paying that tax because they're claiming that the pay had nothing to do with the hiring decision, and they would prefer to hire the American at American wages. This would result in a net zero cost to them. Then use said tax to fund training Americans. Everyone is a winner.

The other thing to thing about longer-term here is with robotics and AI advancing at a rapid pace we'll need far fewer workers in total to produce the same amount. If the primary value humans can bring to work in the future is in the human to human interaction itself, I want those jobs filled by people from within the culture not outside of it.

It should cost more than the market rate honestly. They should reimburse the taxpayer because the inducement to come here mostly derives from the government, not from a burning desire to be a corporate indentured servant.

But, reality is that the white non-Hispanic birth rate is well below the replacement rate (same is true for all Americans). By the 2040s-2050s we will begin a decline that will decimate the economy.

Which means some simple facts exist.

1. We need millions of immigrants to come here in order to continue growing the economy at a pace that will sustain the American standard of living and military world dominance.

2. We need these to be educated productive ppl that will contribute to job creation and consumption.

Importing talent is one of the best ideas we have, and these guys all talked about this during the campaign quite a bit. It should be no surprise.

The Roman's did this as a last ditch effort to save the Roman empire. It didn't work for them.

When Rome was in her hayday, they conscripted entire units of foreigners to supplement their legions and kept the units separate and let the foreigners go on their way after the war was done.

When Rome was in decline they started to integrate the foreigners into the Roman legion en masse with actual Roman's to the point that 30% or more of a unit of "legionaires" was actually foreign.

The legions lost alot of their fighting power.

Roman citizenship had previously been reserved for the creme de LA creme of foreigners and came with special privileges and rights and was something foreigners strove to earn.

When there was no longer any distinction between Roman citizens and foreigners and foreigners began to be moved into Rome en masses, all that was Rome devolved into chaos within a few decades.

We saw it in Canada.

We saw it happen in Rome.

We are seeing it here.

The fact that Elon cannot distinguish between his situation (he was the creme de la creme back when america was recruiting the best and primarily the best) and what is happening in 90% of the H1-B cases is very telling.

He has been insulated from the reality the masses face for so long by his wealth this is a fight he knows nothing about first hand and needs to sit it out.

Someone asked GROK this question:

What percentage of white males were hired between 2020 and 2024 by Fortune 100 companies.

Answer: 6%

White males make up 35% of the population.

And people wonder why companies are completely woke and blatantly racist now.

Not sure how GROK would know that percentage since companies are not required to report the race of new hires. There are some reports of overall breakdown of current employees but that isn't publicly available data. Can you report the source of the GROK analysis?

Those companies are required to report EEO-1 reports.

They also voluntarily report new hiring demos because they want to demonstrate to the world their virtuous DEI hiring.

I've been saying this for a while. Older generations have no idea what is coming. It began with Millennials as I know a large number of dissidents who are family men that are now radicalized, but we still have something to lose. The younger men who have no family and nothing to lose?

We're a nation awash with guns specifically in the very group of people getting directly screwed by the system. I shouldn't have to spell out what the potential consequences of this can be.

I'm not saying this as a threat, merely as an observation.

Agree. People like Elon and his supporters don't understand that MAGA is coming for him. And it be clear, I'm not talking about violence but rather policy.

Elon and Vivek need to get on board or face being purged from the ranks.

It's crazy how insulated the olds are from the younger generations' issues. Many of them just flat out refuse to believe it's happening

I've been calling this 2nd Trump term the Conservative Boomers/X'ers last chance. They're still adamant that the version of America they grew up with exists; those under 30 just think they're delusional at best and at worst insidious.

They've got this last opportunity to bring young men on board, otherwise I'm worried there will be a critical mass of angry young men who just want to burn the leviathan down. Not off to a great start with one of the primary figures in Trump's administration vowing to wage war against them and replace them with foreigners

what is white civilization exactly? at what point specifically does a white civilization cease to be one?

for all the kvetching about foreigners being a threat to american civilization/culture, i've yet to see a coherent definition for what exactly it is the nationalists think they're protecting or trying to retvrn to by deporting a few hundred thousand hb1 holders from a workforce of 150M+
This isn't some clever gotcha, it's a tired old racist trope that is only ever applied to one group of people. The more dedicated leftists were extending the question all the way to genetics a decade ago (what *is* a white person? Can you define one?)

Go live in India for awhile. Then China. Then Colombia or Egypt or Iran. Maybe after all that you can cobble together a clearer picture of what "white civilization" is.

American wages are obviously the primary thing being protected. Companies that rely on American infrastructure and American consumers should also have to rely on American employees. They shouldn't get the benefits of first world consumerism in their revenue column whilst also getting the benefits of third world indentured servitude in their expense column.
i actually think this is a good answer and i agree with it. hopefully republicans are learning a lesson about trusting the world's wealthiest people not to abuse political power in service of their own interests when it's given to them.

i obviously disagree with other posters using the h1b issue as a proxy for /pol/ posting about "opening the floodgates to let in millions of pajeets and bugmen to rape our wives and daughters" but i don't think those are serious people to begin with.
