Incumbents are hard to primary and most seemingly get corrupted anyways. Too much harm can be done between elections.
Our government is supposed to be of the people, by the people and for the people. They derive their power from the people. They exploit that power to their own ends. They definitely wouldn't initiate legislation that would encumber their ability to gain that power.
What's realistic? Revolution and secession are pipe dreams and probably wouldn't succeed anyways in the long term. The constitution isn't followed, how do we veer back to it?
The government takes our money at threat of prison and then either spends it on stuff most wouldn't even think about spending it on if it was their own money. Or they attach so many strings to "allow" us to use it, mostly in the form of how states can spend federal dollars.
Where do we even start?
