Platforms matter, but we need to put more emphasis on electing good people.

Since we have every branch, let's do that convention of states thing.

Term limits for Congress
Balance the budget

And an age limit for all elected and key government positions. Many corporations require executives to retire at 65

Term limits

500 Senators

4,000 House Members

Congress works from their home districts

I think Elon 'buying' this election finally got dems wanting to over turn citizens united.

Zuck spent 400M of his own money buying the 2020 election. AND he censored his customers while doing it.

Any bill to be voted on by congress requires the person voting to read the whole bill themselves. There is a test on the bills contents. A grade of 70 is required to vote on the bill. Anyone not making the 70 or above is ineligible to vote and marked in the public rolls as "ineligible to vote".

The test is unnecessary. Just require the bill's author to read the entire bill aloud. If their voice gives out while reading it, the bill is too long.

Regardless of Elon or Zuck, overturning Citizens United is one of the first things that needs to be done. This is the NIL (unlimited, unregulated "donations") of politics.

The only way to reduce money in politics is to reduce the power government has.

add to this, reduce all incentives to be a politician.

Very little govt power.
No lobbying for 10 plus years
no financial incentives (insider trading etc).

REPEAL THE 17th AMENDMENT and have the states need to take back their power@!

Also, term limits will just make them build their golden parachute faster. Nothing to lose at that point so they'll be stealing everything and then roll right into a lobbyist job.

I particularly like # 1 . Why anyone thinks representatives of the people shouldn't have to follow the laws they pass is beyond my understanding.

Newsflash: Dems have wanted to get rid of Citizens United since the day it was handed down. Leveled the playing field too much for their liking.

I want drastic NGO reform, eliminate federal grants to only a few subject matters. Forbid the rest. Now that Chevron is also gone, those federal agencies passing out grant money like skittles on Halloween will be given no deference.

But I do agree that Citizens United has had some bad consequences.

Don't let stupid people vote. But really it is too late. The corrupt and powerful now rule us.

It's corrupt. It's always been corrupt. It's always going to be corrupt.

How can anyone act like this is a new concept?

From the dawn of time, man has corrupted everything he's touched. Stop hoping for man to finally get it right and place your trust in God. We're powerless to fix this broken world, and frankly what does it even matter? Join God's kingdom and watch all the power hungry men scurry around like rats chasing a morsel of cheese, while you bask in the grace and love of Christ.

Completely eliminate alphabet agencies.

Mandatory auditting of elected officials, staffers and 2 degrees of separation, accompanied with a provision that net worth appreciation can not exceed the S&P appreciation. if it does, that triggers an absolute no lube anal probe of their finances followed by seizure of the difference.

if that doesn't work then it's tall trees and short ropes....

A good place to start would be removing remote jobs all together. It's hard to truly say that someone "works for the people" when they are sitting at home in their PJs all day. It is also really hard to manage a group of people virtually. Remote jobs have also been a disaster in the private sector. People are lying about their proximity to the company's office and are also asking the company to pay for their internet.

I've done some of my best work in PJ's.

Just kidding and agree.
