Pretty bad in what respect? Give us specifics, please. Or, are you basing that on what others are saying, just like the investigation did?

Did you read the report? Multiple witnesses plus plenty of financial evidence make it pretty clear what he was doing. Unless you're saying they falsified his Venmo transactions too.

There could be video with Gaetz admitting to what he's doing is wrong and he'd still the same people defending him that he does right now.

Ain't tribal politics grande.

Gaetz is not fit to be AG. But based on what I've seen and heard about Congressmen over the decades he fits right in.

A lot of people like myself aren't too concerned about what Gaetz is being accused of by pimps & hookers. It was all consensual. A 17 y/o prostitute? The horror!! She was probably a virgin too, right?

Bribery/corruption in a public official is far worse than paying for sex. Drug use? I'll bet a good chunk of current reps get high routinely.

I'm just pleasantly surprised, impressed even, that the right is so accepting of things that folk on their side do when for decades they clutched their pearls when someone on the left did similar.

It's refreshing.

WGAF about hypocrisy. People who break the law do not deserve to hold public office, no matter their political affiliation.

we see that one congressmen on the intelligence committee can be ****ing an actual CCP spy and not only stay in office, but keep his committees (until congressional leadership changed) and no one in the media or social media mobs even bat an eye. then we see that another congressman paid an escort service via venmo 6 or 7 years ago for a date and everyone freaks out about how awful it is and how the guy should never hold office ever again. hmmm... i wonder what the difference between those two congressmen is....

Was the ethics report released?
YES

"Here are five big takeaways from the House Ethics Committee released today on former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz's alleged misconduct:
[ol]
  • Gaetz allegedly paid tens of thousands of dollars to women for sex or drugs on some 20 occasions
  • The committee report found "substantial evidence" that Gaetz paid for sex with a 17-year-old girl
  • Gaetz allegedly broke a handful of laws including engaging in commercial sex
  • The one-time Florida congressman was "uncooperative throughout the Committee's review" and refused to appear for questioning
  • At least one woman interviewed told the committee that the use of drugs at the parties they attended may have "impaired their ability to really know what was going on or fully consent"
  • [/ol]
Gaetz denies any wrongdoing and says "the people investigating me hated me"

    Thanks for the summary.

I personally think Gaetz is a slimeball but in an age were presidents can penetrate interns with cigars, where the media ignores sitting presidents finger banging staffers against their consent while Senators, where cocaine is found in the White House, and where nearly every A-lister was in Heidi Fleiss' black book (not to mention Epstein's). Drug use and hiring prostitutes won't be disqualifying but is smugness and punchable face might be.

In an age where Chinese spies are in bed with congressmen, our sec of state had classified info on private servers and destroyed the evidence, when Giseine Maxwell is in prison yet zero of her clients are being pursued, when our government spied on political opposition, framed political opposition, and tried to imprison political opposition, and our institutions and their Pravda media arm are lying to us and censoring us about health, about Biden's corruption, about Biden's state of mind, etc., were supposed to not care about those things and be really upset that some pimps and hookers said this former congressmen paid them 6 years ago before he was married. He's not being charged by the House because the House is not a LEA.

The DOJ, which could have charged him, already investigated this case and dropped it two years ago.

It doesn't seem you really understand the process here.

If the accuser won't come forward to assist in the prosecution, it didn't happen. It's all a lie. How do I know? I've seen it too many times now. I could give a **** what he is "alleged" to have done. The DOJ didn't pursue the case against a Republican. The allegations must really be double-secret-bull*****

Be honest - do you actually think he only "paid an escort service for a date 6 or 7 years ago" based on everything thats in the report? Why is there a need to downplay it vs just saying "I know that guy is on our team but he sucks."

    I'm not a lawyer.

Since I've had some time since then I've actually looked into it. Solicitation has a statute of limitations of up to 3 years. Solicitation of a minor is a felony, but requires the minor to be under 16 in Florida. So you're stuck with statutory rape only, which also has a statute of limitations of 3 years unless you have DNA evidence. They don't.

So yeah, you have a situation here where Gaetz is dead to rights and will get off scot free because of statute of limitations.

Come the **** on. Dude was clearly hiring hookers. What the hell else explains him doing drugs with, banging, and then giving money to women?

Thankfully Republicans had enough spine to overrule Trump on this one. Gaetz was an absolutely terrible pick.

This is to those who are taking certain stances regarding conservative values and views.

Full disclosure I am a staunch fan of Mark Dice whose real name is Mark Shouldice and own several of his books that are a great read for those who are truly conservative. He's no rookie to the conservative movement if fact he's been around for years, way before Trump changed politics. Mark has stood his ground and not changed his beliefs to favor book sales or monetize his own business

But this video about covers my point

Its legal in 39 states to have sex with a 17 year old. Are you really going to hang your hat on which side of the Florida Georgia line he was on? When the accuser has done jail time for making similar false accusations?
