Don't ever forget -
The dems ultimate hero was a vile racist that used an executive order to put tens of thousands of American citizens in concentration camps based on nothing but their race.

Oh yeah, he also doomed our children to global financial calamity with Social Security

I've maintained for a couple of decades he's been the worst president ever.

FDR was bad.

Wilson, LBJ, and Obama were worse. Biden was really just Obama's third term.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Not sure about racist. Did he do that with all Asians or just specifically the ones from a country who attacked us and may have had spies or attackers here?

Not condoning it, just not sure if his motives were racism.

No, that probably goes to Wilson and LBJ.

Biden has been the most anti-American admin and willfully destructive, but didn't get much legacy law enshrined like those.

Edit -- you were speaking about FDR though.

Depression era FDR policies should be seperated from wartime FDR.

It wash the former Secretary of the Navy FDR persona that was in WW II and he made good decisions just before the war and during. (By the time of Yalta, he is a fading wreck, and the only thing that should be held against him is running in 1944 in the same sense that Biden running in 2024 was also the result of a cover-up. He should not have run then)

On more thought, another thing to hold against him is his tendency to pit commands against one another at the cost of a unified command. This cost more than one setback and nearly caused some disasters.

Without LBJ sabotaging the civil rights gains out of the gate by creating the welfare state, the burden of Social Security might look rather manageable if you subtract the existence of all the Welfare entitlements we do now.

LBJ also presided over the indecisive war motif, and the staging of false flags for MIC reasons.

My NewYork grandparents and relatives on Dad's side thought that too, and interestingly enough, it was because saw him as a "communist". Back then it seemed hard to square with the WW II imagery of him, but his policies in the Depression were not much heard about.

FDR is the reason rural America voted for the Dems for a couple of generations. He brought the electrical coops to the farms and ranches of America. Before that there was no electricity or heat, or even water in most places.

As titan said above, LBJ has been the worst in my life. His Great Society i.e. entitlements, maybe the death of our country. That has lead to generations of fatherless, worthless, welfare receiving families. And these changes have lead to our sky high crime rate. And then there is Medicaid.

You can't be racist against Asians, in fact, you can still discriminate against them with University enrollment.

That would have more parallel than you may realize. FDR's reasons were not flimsy or dumb like racism. (Bigotry if it existed may have made the decision easy?). It was based on the way Malaya and Indonesia ports and installations were compromised by spy networks and 5th columns before invasion after Pearl and thru Jan/Feb. It didn't really much exist west east of Hawaii, but FDR didn't know that for sure.

Japanese Americans in Hawaii aided a downed Japanese Airman from the Pearl Harbor attack.

Had that not happened, I doubt the massive internment would have happened.

The biggest disgrace is that the camps continued past June 1942, after the Battle of Midway ended any risk of a Japanese invasion of the Mainland.

Correct. But it wasn't the only thing. FDR had received extensive reports about the 5th column activity from Churchill and the Dutch. It was a modus-operandi and the flyer story may have just been more the point he used to sell it. He wanted to do it for Churchill's reasons.

If we rounded up Muslims after 911 and locked them up in camps while we were in Afghanistan and Iraq would you consider that racist?

LBJ is the worst ever and it's not even close…

The puppet masters putting words in Bidens mouth would be second, since he is not really self aware most of the time.

Then Obama, Carter, and LBJ in no particular order.

No they were dirt poor farmers, brought low by a Great Depression. FDRs policies brought their families some relief when it was needed. No one on this board has any idea of what real suffering is like and that is the sad part.

Just because they thought that doesn't mean he wasn't a garbage president. He can rot in hell for giving us the scam, that is, social security.

My grandparents were all old school Texas "yellow dog" democrats and raised my parents through the Great Depression. They spoke highly of FDR. I doubt my dad or mom voted for a democrat any time after the early 60s.
It only took me a year to figure out this place is nuts!

She was correct.

The only thing that brought us out of the depression was the Second World War.

You don't have to have lived through FDR's presidency to know he sucked

Unfortunately, your parents didn't have time to study economics. Otherwise they would have realized that FDR was the reason the economy sucked so bad.

The most thorough study ever done into great depression recovery concluded FDR's policies prolonged the depression by at least 7 years.
