Here's the map. Since a lot of the population density is in Montgomery County/ The Woodlands, Kingwood, and Atascocita, it's unlikely that a Dem could win. I guess that's probably a reason why he could get primaried - a lot of things he says infuriates conservatives, like whining about the Freedom Caucus. Probably would be a good idea for him to start talking more professionally in his tweets instead of talking like he's sitting with his bros in a bar.

The woodlands and Ben****er etc will sink him. Easy to find an actual conservative friendly to oil and gas.

People like him and McCain are why I'm leery of military vets running as politicians now. Too many of them are liberals using their service as their ticket to power.
