I can believe that. I saw all the new construction and small subdivisions around Victor, Driggs, and Tetonia. Drove thru some looking for a Houston area friend's vacation house. That was the Only part of Idaho I saw with a Yuppie/ California air about it. I imagine the vacation and retirement homes there greatly outnumber the native locals. I'm sure the easy commute to Jackson and the views make that area a favorite.
Salmon, challis, and Stanley are isolated and far enough from civilization to hopefully keep the Californians away.

I was happy staying on the Idaho side of the Tetons this summer. Flew into Idaho Falls and drove thru the swan valley to Victor, Driggs, Rexburg, and Salmon. The view of the Tetons is great from the Idaho side without the crowds, expense, and Libs in Jackson. That drive is a favorite now. I could stay in the small town of Salmon all summer and explore, fish, hike, etc. I've now driven thru all 3 of those Eastern Idaho valleys with mountain ranges on both sides. Salmon to Challis to Idaho Falls is great also.

The main problem is "white guilt". And the supreme arrogance that it is their job and responsibility to right all the wrongs in the world.

Let people fix their own problems. Only then will they learn responsibility.

Leaders of Western countries also like to virtue signal a lot. Practically every Democrat politician is like that.
