I did not have this on my 2024 bingo card.

NYC mayor says the left is radicalizing today's youth.

And he is 100% correct.

He made some other recent comment that pissed off Democrats too.

Can't remember if it was the illegal immigration or what it was..

There is a big gap between gaining a little bit of common sense and being red pilled.

Yeah, but people are waking up to the leftist garbage.

Once they realize they are lying about one thing, then they start to realize they are lying about everything.

Also, it was a question, not a statement of fact...

Heard yesterday Trump had considered pardoning him.

Interesting times we live in.

When the left tries to put you away using their corrupt FBI and DOJ, it tends to awake people up.

he seems to waffle based on what suits his political aspirations. i believe 20 years ago he was a republican so it would not surprise me if he is aware of the hypocrisy coming from the left. when it benefits him he is all onboard but he isn't stupid he sees the tea leaves turning and he is turning with them.

I think the illegal alien crisis in NYC presented a reality to Adams that was impossible to deny. His party is selling out Americans with their open borders policies, and he sees first hand how terrible it is for his consituents.

Couple that with the way he was treated after admitting the problems and his law enforcement background, and it makes sense that he has finally had enough.

I also think seeing how much of the black male vote went to Trump has emboldened him to speak out more knowing he is not alone in his thinking. I'm glad he is speaking the truth. Coming from a lifetime Democrat, his words speak pretty loudly.

Yeah he's said some good things lately but talk is cheap. Hopefully he follows this up with actions regarding NYC crime and illegals.

he used to be Republican, and is under investigation by NYC for crimes

so of course he is going to curry favor with El Trumpo

Trump should issue a blanket preemptive pardon just to F with Alvin Bragg!

I would imagine big insurance, tech and pharmaceutical companies bank roll a lot of his campaign contributions. Probably a bit of self preservation for future donations. He can't have all his contributors being on societal hit lists. Your party can't demonize capitalism and have it's constituents actively out hunting the leaders of industry and keep the gravy train of money flowing from those same industries/CEO's.

I'll rephrase this for him and say the quiet part out loud...

"You dip****s need to start looking at how all leftists inevitably turn on the leftists that came before them. You've reached a point where you've radicalized them into killing, and you're the leftists that came before them.

He said he was willing to work with Trump on the illegal immigrant issue and the left lost their ***** How dare the mayor of America's biggest city work with the president.

Yeah, there is some self-preservation going on here. If he does end up having a major policy shift that's great but I need to see actions and not just words.

I was in NYC last year for a concert and while I was in town, I met up with a friend who is a retired NYPD deputy commissioner. While we were out walking, we stopped by the police training facility in southern Manhattan. He showed me the facilities where he trained in the early 2000s but when he tried to show me the gym, the observation deck was chained up and not accessible for officer training. Turns out it was converted into a migrant holding facility.

That is the Mayor Adams I know. The one that prioritized using taxpayer funds to house the immigrants instead of giving officers the facilities they need for training.

He is departing HEAVILY from the democrat church's narrative. Openly engaging in heresy and blasphemy. Can we at least give him SOME credit for that? These haven't been minor departures from the religious doctrine lately. His statement on illegals the other day was basically like walking into a southern Baptist church and declaring that it was ok to groom children to be LGBTQ. I was very surprised.

Now is he being a political snake or is it genuine? Who knows, maybe he is listening to the right podcasts or has been talking to the right people?

So, he is a typical politician, representing whatever position keeps him in office.

Sure, I was not intending to completely throw out what he has been saying. I just wish he had started saying it before he was being investigated for bribery and corruption.

Right now he feels like another rat trying to flee the SS Democratic Party.

Remember, this is not a case like Hochul's of showing signs of bending toward the new wave.

Adams *was already* pushing back against the Bidenites and the gaslight narrative by visiting the border and he got in enough trouble with the Left that they started some lawfare against him.

Bottom line, this may be genuine as New Yorkers go.

Yeah, jury is still out on him. But the fact that he was openly departing on some of this stuff BEFORE the election was surprising to me. From the dem perspective, that is openly helping Trump...the ultimate no-no.

I am hopefully optimistic that he is actually changing. It would be hilarious if it turns out that the corruption change is BS and he ends up running for reelection as a republican and wins. New York desperately needs someone in office that can bring back a bit of sanity. It can be a great city to visit but I am not going back until they get the crime cleaned up.

You could have just said "You reap what you sow." but your gist is correct.

Leftists have been creating Frankenstein's monsters all along and they will tun on them in the end.
The best way to keep evil men from wielding great power is to not create great power in the first place.

I believe we will be seeing an increasing number of folks gladly swallowing whatever pill will help them keep their hold on power. Color of pill is irrelevant.

Exactly. He had even broken ranks before the "consensus" that Kamala would win had weakened. He needs to be given some benefit of the doubt. As should any who turned against the gaslighting before the election unfolded.

Guess he's not running for reelection of knows he can't win. Can't be honest if you're the mayor of a dem town unless you're done.

Not only can he not win reelection, but he's under federal investigation and seeking a Trump pardon.

I think it's a little different. Leftists are always looking for change, "progress," and someone to vilify, and they teach their acolytes about how the world is wrong and needs to be changed. They teach them that those that disagree with their teachings are not just wrong, but bad because their views are righteous. Their acolytes, typically being young, overconfident, and self-righteous themselves, take those teachings and expand on them with religious zeal. The teachers respond with, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, that's not what we taught you. You're going too far." to which the acolytes respond, "No, you aren't going far enough," and accuse them of being traitors as demanded by their own dogma on disagreeing with their righteous viewpoints. The acolytes turn on their former teachers and hold it up as a display of their righteousness to their own acolytes, and the cycle repeats.

He has spent over one billion dollars on taking "care" of illegals and is seeing a backlash.

And unlike the Chicago mayor, who is doubling down on the backlash, which in increasing, he wants to be reelected.
