Having red meat in your diet has obviously worked since before the caveman.

The key to staying healthy is not sitting on your ass 24/7. The more "bad" food you eat, the more you need to stay off your ass. Rocket scientists aren't needed on this one. Move around, people.

The chances of a cave man catching an animal was few and far between. And if they did, they always ran the risk of the meat spoiling before they made it back to their caves.

They mostly ate, berries, nuts, tree leaves, etc.

Drinking whiskey and smoking a cigarette every morning got one man to live to be 105!. But that certainly doesn't mean that this routine will work for the vast majority of people.

Class A? Causes cancer? It's classified 2A as declared by WHO. Not as scary as you want us to believe. It's only fitting you are literally a soy consuming man too haha

Quote:

Red meat falls into the same category, group 2A, as the emissions from frying food at high temperatures. Additionally, exposure to various substances whilst working as a hairdresser or barber is also found in this category. Remember, this simply means the substances or exposures in this group all probably cause cancer, and doesn't tell us the level of the risks.

Early on in the pandemic I started eating NY Strips with raw spinach at least 4-5 times per week. Usually Chicken or Salmon for the other meals. The health benefits were tremendous.
Rich.

NY Strip is cheap. $8/lb or so for basic select at HEB.

8 oz with raw spinach. What are we talking? $5-6?

Cheaper than McDonald's.

Our HEB regularly runs choice boneless NY strips for $5.99 a pound.

And don't sleep on good sirloin as well. Ours runs Prime boneless sirloin for $4.99 at least once a month

Researchers have identified a consistent pattern of DNA damage in the colorectal tumors of people with frequent consumption of red and processed meat.

False. Their diets were very similar to native Americans, which was extremely animal protein heavy. So much so that they led to the eradication of many animal species when they arrived in the Americas.

I guess the science is settled

https://www.who.int/news-room/questions-and-answers/item/cancer-carcinogenicity-of-the-consumption-of-red-meat-and-processed-meat

Quote:

Red meat was classified as Group 2A, probably carcinogenic to humans. What does this mean exactly?
In the case of red meat, the classification is based on limited evidence from epidemiological studies showing positive associations between eating red meat and developing colorectal cancer as well as strong mechanistic evidence.

Limited evidence means that a positive association has been observed between exposure to the agent and cancer but that other explanations for the observations (technically termed chance, bias, or confounding) could not be ruled out.

I doubt your sources, like any rational thinker but if it were true, I guess that type of diet (non-red meat) would explain their lack of intellect, similar to today.

Their diets were basically the same. Also 8,000 BC is hardly cavemen. Native Americans crossed the Alaskan land bridge 30,000 years ago.

I like how you had to throw that in there. The same way researches for red meat tend to ignore the rest of the processed food and sugars these subjects ingest.

Just consumer a fantastic prime, 8oz filet. A little olive oil and dash of garlic salt.
Steamed spinach.
Stalworth Cab…..as the drink and carb. Really nice Merica wine for anyone interested.

No seed oils. Life is good.

Sure, catching an animal in the wild with rudimentary weapons was not sustainable. But back to the original topic. Is eating red meat healthy?

The plains Indians were much healthier than the more settled eastern tribes. The plains Indians obviously ate a diet that consisted primarily of meat, whereas the eastern tribes had a diet much heavier in vegetables and carbohydrates, such as corn.

I suspect it is healthier than we have been told. My point though was that your implication that cavemen didn't each much red meat doesn't seem to be the case.
