I used to agree. Now I just agree with the bacon part. Hot dogs are for 4th of July and baseball games. Outside of that, hard pass

Most of what you see about nutrition is made up.

Edward Bernays was hired by Beechnut Packing to devise a plan to sell more bacon. The marketing was to eat " a hearty breakfast."

And so it began. Cigarettes and coffee transitioned to a full breakfast with... bacon.

The USDA came out 4-5 years ago and indicated that the idea eggs were filled with horrible cholesterol was completely made up.

When Aspertame was originally submitted for approval, it was denied based on the supplied supporting evident. It was then resubmitted and approved. Most people I knew who drank Diet Coke saw massive headaches. Enter Coke Zero.

I don't know as much about RFK Jr an I do other Kennedys but he will be fun to follow, IMO. Kinda like following Kasparov during Russia v Ukraine.

I strongly disagree. I still think you have to limit meat intake so you don't get obese. I still believe obesity is a major health problem and eating 5 pounds of prime rib a day will make you fat although damn it would taste great.

I agree with that. At the end of the day, weight is determined by caloric input - caloric output. The point of my post wasn't that people could eat 5+ lbs of meat per sitting, but that we don't need to artificially reduce our meat consumption to rare events because of invalid health concerns.

Having said that, lean beef probably contains fewer calories per gram than other substances like processed carbohydrates. I've also read that your body actually expends more calories digesting meat than it does processed carbs.
