Lt. Governor Dan Patrick says Texas will TRY to purchase all of the border wall construction materials being auctioned by DHS.

He will then donate them to President Trump.pic.twitter.com/yn3DCWIrZd

Selling property that can and would be used if not sold not only is irresponsible, it's dishonest. Any bureaucrat that is in on this scheme should be fired after J20.

It is almost as if the Democrats don't want to build a wall, or stop illegal migrants in anyway.

. . . President Donald Trump is visiting the southern border in Texas to claim success in the construction of a border fence with Mexico.
The White House said his visit would "mark the completion of more than 400 miles of border wall - a promise made, promise kept".
. . .
Various types of fencing totalling 654 miles (just over 1,000 km) were already in place before Mr Trump became president in 2017.
. . .
The Trump administration say they've completed more than 400 miles of border wall since then.
It's 452 miles (727 km) in total, according to the latest US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) information (4 January 2021).
However, only 80 miles of new barriers have been built where there were none before - that includes 47 miles of primary wall, and 33 miles of secondary wall built to reinforce the initial barrier.
The vast majority of the 452 miles is replacing existing structures at the border that had been built by previous US administrations.
President Trump has argued that this should be regarded as new wall, because it's replacing what he called "old and worthless barriers." . . .

. . . Trump made clear during his campaign that he intends to finish construction of the border wall, making use of the materials that have remained untouched at the border since President Joe Biden took office in 2021. If the material brought to the border during his first term is sold off, it will significantly delay any progress on one of Trump's flagship campaign promises at the border. . .

. . . Biden halted border wall construction after taking office in 2021. Trump-his predecessor and soon-to-be successor made it a cornerstone of his immigration policy and has pledged to continue its construction once he returns to office in January.
If the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) response to Newsweek in 2023 aligns with Friday's reports, it might not be as nefarious as Crane believes. A spokesperson said at the time that the materials were being disposed of in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
"USACE has already transferred approximately $154 million worth of the roughly $260 million of bollard panels and other materials in accordance with standard excess property disposition procedures," a spokesperson said at the time.
. . ,
This is how you know we're a broken country. The president-elect made one of his core campaign principles to stope illegal immigration. The people overwhelmingly voted for this. But instead the outgoing president sells already tax-payer paid items for pennies on the dollar just to stifle the incoming POTUS.Logos Stick said:

and Texas! The border wall that Joe Biden was attempting to auction off for pennies on the dollar in secret has been stopped.
Last Thursday, a tip from Border Patrol exposed Biden for attempting to sell wall panels. A few days later, the administration rushed thousands of usable wall panels, not clearly seen before, to an auction site in Arizona. The purpose was clearly to keep these border wall panels from President Trump. That auction happened today, but thousands of good wall panels that we were ready to buy were pulled from the auction.
Here's the back story. When Texas looked at the auction site on Friday of last week, the usable wall panels were not listed, or it was not easy to see what they were.
Texas was never told in advance about the auction of the usable wall panels. Then, the panels were quickly removed from the auction yesterday. Texas sent a representative to Arizona, and the auctioneers told him they pulled the wall panels from being auctioned off today at the direction of the U.S. Government. They also told us that if these thousands of panels go up for auction, Texas will be notified first. Governor Abbott and I stand ready to buy them if they do.
Early this week, President Trump called out Biden for trying to sell off the border wall early this week. He called it a "criminal act" by Biden. President Trump was the key to ending the secret Biden plan.
