In the absolute perfect world, DeSantis would become AG. He was built for that IMO and can systematically turn the DOJ upside down and shake out all the partisan hacks. I can't imagine he'd have any trouble being confirmed.TheEternalOptimist said:That would be great.Gaeilge said:

DeSantis should appoint himself Senator.
When did I say there was nobody better? I merely said "hopefully someone better replaces him", meaning I don't want someone the beltway is going to like. 1. Trump fired people all the time in his last go round
2. Matt Gaetz is a hack blowhard who went to Florida State and has his daddy's money which he used to buy hookers and a seat in Congress
3. to believe the GOP has NOT ONE CANDIDATE better than Gaetz is to implicitly agree that we are the idiot party with no qualified or talented people
DESANTIS himself is 100 times better for AG than Matt Gaetz!

. . . Reid summarized what the new reporting was that "the woman who is at the center of these allegations that he had sex with a minor, has told the ethics committee that when she was just 17, she had not one but two sexual encounters with Gaetz at a party in Florida. And that that sexual second encounter involved an adult woman." . . .
I seem to recall a short period of history, say around 2019 to present when you repeated verbatim every blue talking point RE: "Dr" Fauci, WHO, wet markets, exponential!!!, two weeks, vaxxx, booters, omincron, dark winters, etc. etc. etc.Infection_Ag11 said:

According to CNN chief legal correspondent Paula Reid, "we [CNN] called to say we were going to report that 'Ethics committee told there was a *second* sexual encounter between Gaetz and 17 year old in 2017,'" and Gaetz withdrew 45 minutes later.Quote:
"They asked us to give them an hour. We did," said Reid, explaining that they had told Gaetz's team they would go live at 12:30 pm, "and about a moment before I was supposed to come on air and share the new reporting…we didn't get a statement from Gaetz, and instead we got the statement saying that he was withdrawing as the attorney general pick."
Reid summarized what the new reporting was that "the woman who is at the center of these allegations that he had sex with a minor, has told the ethics committee that when she was just 17, she had not one but two sexual encounters with Gaetz at a party in Florida. And that that sexual second encounter involved an adult woman."

True, but Bill's party didn't hate him the way the GOP, and pretty much anyone not maga, hates Gaetz.

The way it's written makes it seem like the 2nd encounter was at the same party as the first.

Completely baseless accusation. Nice.
There are financial records and emails documenting his use of prostitutes.
Now sure, the underage boy/girl stuff may very well be false. But we're at the point where that's a question for the legal side of things. He's clearly not a viable candidate for AG of the United States regardless.
Your DOJ investigated and cleared him. Just stop with your bull**** accusations.
They didn't clear him, they declined to prosecute but withheld all the evidence. It's pretty obvious what happened there.
The DOJ investigation ended it's investigation two years ago!. The House doesn't prosecute people. They don't do criminal investigations.
It's pretty obvious you make baseless claims and dont understand what happened here.
Friends who work in DC also note that Gaetz does not hide how constantly drugged up and horny he is. Not the character I want out of the highest ranking legal officer in the country.
That makes zero sense. Less than zero actually. Garland would have been more than happy to prosecute Gaetz had there been anything there.
Are you aware that many sitting congress people have been indicted on federal charges while in office? Some have even been convicted. You're obviously not aware because you've come up with that cockamamie theory about why he wasn't charged.

Joel Greenberg, the guy that got sent to prison was NOT Gaetz's right hand man. Yes, he knew and was friends with Gaetz. He also had asked Gaetz to intevene on his behalf and secure a pardon for him. When Gaetz didn't, he came out with the accusation of Gaetz's involvement.Midnight Yale said:Just to be clear, Gaetz's right hand man in any alleged wrongdoing got sent to prison for 11 years for the things Gaetz is accused of. DeSanitis is term limited now. He's out in two years anyway. I could definitely see it since he would be much more effective in that role.
Don't worry. I've asked multiple times on this thread, including the person you responded to, of any semblance of proof and have gotten crickets. He also had a history of doing this. Greenberg was the former Tax Collector for Seminole county, and had accused his opponent in that election of having sex with minors. Sound familiar?
It's quite possible that Greenberg offered Gaetz as his "get out of jail free" card. He's the underpinning of the entire allegation against Gaetz, and he's not credible.
And I still have yet to actually see Venmo receipts for sex. So it's really not obvious at all what truly happened here.
