At least with the podcasters there's a much better chance of them asking an honest and question instead of playing 'gotcha'.

It's long overdue for the traditional media to be put in its place. They don't own the media space. Audiences have already been moving to modern media for a quite some time.

Don't forget that when Trump was on Rogan he raged against the free FCC licenses the legacy media get to use public airwaves.

Trump suggested these licenses were worth billions and sounded like he's about to go ham on legacy media.

The best move is to make the licenses irrelevant by continuing to pump up alternative media. Sure they will always have a certain audience but it will continue to shrink into oblivion.

My idea is to have the SOTU on the Joe Rogan podcast and then submit the transcript to Congress. Don't give the miserable Dimwit progressives a chance to either not show up or try to raise hell or sit on their hands. Let Joe ask him how things are going and what he needs. That will get more views than the actual broadcast AND continue to build the young male voter base.

Let Karoline set them up and knock them down in her briefings.

Podcasts make as much sense as anyone else. The purpose is to ask questions Americans want answers to, period. It shouldn't matter if the person asking the question has a journalism degree or not. They're not there to do any invetiging, they're just there to ask questions. That's something even a 2nd grader can do.

WHOOP!!!

I've been harping on this for a while now (not that stumping on TexAgs does much). I want to see them kill the press pool model. Make it a relic that the Dems would look silly if they tried to bring it back. Have the press secretary regularly disseminate White House news and otherwise schedule / host long form interviews between podcasters/interviewers and a rotation of cabinet members. Trump pops in when he wants, but the charade of a pool of 4th estate virtuous truth seekers should be trampled by new media.

Just like not all TV networks/channels get a WH Press Pass, not all podcasters will.

It'll be people like Megyn Kelly, Ben Shapiro, etc. We aren't going to see Dax Shepard and Mr Beast asking questions.

I'm interpretting it as the Whitehouse will either start using their own credentialling system as a supplement or replacement to the WHCA system, or they will have more say in who the WHCA gives credentials to.

Ultimately reducing or eliminating the power the WHCA has over the press room.
