The only senators up in 2026 that might go against Trump on nominations are more worried about a general election than the primary. Like Collins & Tillis
Then go after Collins. Have Elon and Co put billions into her challenger and have Trump campaigning against her weekly.

Hell if you lose the primary, stump for democratic opponent.

Send the message.

Primary Collins and you put a Democrat in her seat. She's as good as it gets in regards to Republicans when it comes to Maine. She's votes with the GOP about 91% of the time. I'll take that.

Nope put her to pasture and make an example.

That's some brilliant political strategy. Truly first rate thinking.

Replace a GOP Senator who votes with the party an overwhelming percentage of the time with a liberal to "send a message". Who the actual **** is suppose to receive this message? Other somewhat moderate Republican Senators whom if they suddenly vote hard right will lose their seats also to liberals? Yep, let's give the Senate to the Dems again… quite the message you want to send.
I guess that depends on whether you think we will be playing the same game 10 years from now. I do not. I'm looking for a short term strategic victory to reset the board.

Giving the Dems the Senate is somehow a strategic victory? Interesting.

Either way you haven't thought this through… clearly. Collins and Murkowski aren't up for reelection until 28' which is a lifetime in politics. Thus they have more than enough time to survive any petulant attempts to dethrone them. And the notion that Alaska and Maine are suddenly going to change their voting habits based on one election cycle is a bit naive. Trends are hardly determined on one nights vote. Time will tell. I hope the nation is shifting right but it's way too soon to pop the cork on the champagne bottle.

Anyone who is blocking trumps agenda.

So if a GOP Senator in a purple state votes against a single Trump decree they are to be primaried and replaced with a true believer?
If they block the Republican agenda, they're on the opposite side. America has spoken. Get the. The **** out.

And replace them with?

Remember, we're discussing purple states. Not hardcore red states. Purple states where moderate voters (yes, they exist whether you like it or not) decide who wins and who loses. And also remember we're discussing Senators who vote with the GOP an overwhelmingly majorly majority of the time.

WTH did Gaetz resign his congressional seat instead of waiting for confirmation of his appointment? Seems dumb to me. Wait and resign after.
To prevent the House Ethics Committee's report on him being released next week.

I think it also starts the clock on when the special election can be called by Desantis.

Use all the tools. The dims weaponized government against Trump. They fabricated crimes. They took political prisoners. They demonized concerned patriots. They called people who believe in traditional values "Nazis."

If it is legal, use it against them to root out fascists in our government.

Agreed, if it's legal, there's no reason not to use it. "Elections have consequences" and all that.
There are in fact two things, science and opinion; the former begets knowledge, the later ignorance. Hippocrates

If this is true and there's an attempt at a recess appointment, does Congress going into recess have to be voted on by Congress?

If senate votes no on recess, and house votes yes, then Trump can force it

Umm, no. That is not how it works. The House of Representatives is in no way involved here.

If the House of Representatives recess, there is no disagreement, the House cannot recess the Senate and vice versa.

The House of Representatives can recess and all take a trip to Cancun, and the Senate would still be voting yay or nay on appointments
