Not a Cornyn fan in the slightest but I do think he tried to do so yesterday. Trouble is I don't believe him. At all.fightingfarmer09 said:
Both Thune and Cornyn could stop this simply by coming out and vocalizing support for the Trump agenda and make recess appointments the top priority.
The fact they haven't says a lot.
It is unacceptable for Senate Ds to blockade President @realDonaldTrump ‘s cabinet appointments. If they do, we will stay in session, including weekends, until they relent. Additionally, the Constitution expressly confers the power on the President to make recess appointments.…

No weekends, no breaks. Democrats can cooperate in the best interest of the country, or continue the resistance, which will eventually be ground down. Take your pick.

Thanks for signaling that you are behind the president elect 100%.

I'm not a fan at all (and wonder why Beto never challenged him instead of Cruz!!) but he won't be a bad majority leader.

Cruz may be planning to move to the Supreme Court next year.

Cornyn's most important job will be getting Trump's political and judicial nominees confirmed. He is a whiz at that and was McConnell's number 2 until he term limited out (the only reason Thune's there now). I'm not a fan at all (and wonder why Beto never challenged him instead of Cruz!!) but he won't be a bad majority leader.
In 2016, I (incorrectly) assumed that an R President, House, and Senate win meant Trump's agenda would be pushed through with no issues.

Quite the opposite.
Very productive day of work by the transition team

just a rumored possibility. Cruz worships the SC, clerked there, wrote a book on it titled "One Vote Away" in which you can tell the reverence he has for the institution.
He'd sail through confirmation and Abbot could appoint his replacement for a fresh term
I did, and I told them I prefer Cornyn. He can at least think for himself sometimes without sacrificing his integrityBob Knights Paper Hands said:
I'm glad this is being published! Call your state senators. I know nothing about Scott, but we deserve better than Thune and Cornyn.
In 2022, myself and 10,000 other Texas Delegates booed Cornyn off stage.

I've been a delegate to 7 or 8 Texas GOP conventions and Cornyn supplies the lanyards for the credentials. Every time, people either get a lanyard from an exhibitor or bring their own, and throw the Cornyn lanyards on the floor. The entrance to the hall is covered in discarded Cornyn lanyards.
In case you want to know what Texas Republicans think of Cornyn.
